ASUS, a Taiwan based company has once again made another revolutionary step through the release of the ZenBook Pro Duo. Its was announced in Computex 2019. Now, ASUS Nepal has confirmed that they will be launching ZenBook Pro Duo in Nepal very soon. The most interesting feature of this machine is its second screen which adds more room to your workspace. Besides that, it comes with up to eight-core core i9 processor and displays offering a wide colour gamut which makes ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo a strong contender as a Content Creation champ.
ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo Overview
From the outside, the ZenBook Pro Duo looks like any other beefed Windows laptop weighs 2.9Kg. The main display measures 15.6 inches and is built with an OLED panel which features a 3840×2160 4K UHD resolution. It has slim bezels for an 89% screen-to-body ratio offering a user more immersive viewing experience. It has a similar keyboard like any other ZenBook but has the odd keyboard placement due to secondary display. The secondary display measures 5.5 inches and has a matte finish to minimize glare.
ZenBook Pro Duo comes with a pair of USB 3.1 Type-A port for regular connectivity along with a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C for high-speed data transfer and allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Also, an HDMI 2.0 port is provided along with 3.5mm combo jack for audio. Apart from these, the Harman Kardon certified stereo audio system sounds reasonably good. Due to the design shift, the touchpad is relocated to the right of the keyboard which also functions as number pad when needed.
The ZenBook Pro Duo comes with ErgoLift hinges for the proper heat dissipation and elevates the keyboard at a more comfortable typing angle. For cooling, this machine is provided by chunky vents on its sides to suck in cool air keeping both CPU and GPU cooler.
Performance
When it comes to power, It is powered by up to a 9th generation eight-core core i9 processor. Along with the latest Nvidia GeForce GTX 2060 graphics which provides major improvements in performance, memory bandwidth, and power efficiency. Coupled with up to 32GB RAM this machine can deliver smooth and stutter-free performance. With this power, any user can do tasks ranging from gaming to content creation with ease.
Do not consider this machine to rush like your desktop-grade workstation but for a mobile machine, its a powerhouse due to its specifications & performance. Along with performance, storage comes with PCIe SSD which goes from 256GB to 1TB. With the compatibility of WiFi 6, you have speedier wireless connectivity standard.
Conclusion
ASUS has provided 8-Cell battery (71 Wh) but considering the power, you’re only really likely to get three hours away from a socket. If you travel most of the time don’t forget to carry your charger. It’s targeted to the creative user but they are more likely to go with other options for work on the go device as it has poor battery life. Considering the price, ZenBook Pro Duo is a mobile powerhouse but with some compromise, poor battery life, limited port selection, uncomfortable design.
