Gionee M12 Overview
Design and Display
Gionee M12 flaunts a 6.55-inch IPS LCD panel with 1600×720 pixels resolution. It boasts a screen-to-body ratio of 91% and has a punch hole cutout at the top left corner of the screen. There is a glass front and plastic back embedded inside the plastic frame.
The body is curved in a 3D way giving us a nice grip while holding the phone. It weighs 196 grams while maintaining the dimension of 163.9×76.8×9.3mm. In addition, there are two color options – Magic Green and Dazzling Black.
Performance and Memory
Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio P22 based on a 12nm manufacturing process. It has an octa-core CPU with Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. However, there is another variant that is not available in Nepal – Helio A25. Both these variants have the same graphics processor PowerVR GE8320. Likewise, there is Android 10 on the software front.
There are two memory configurations – 4/64GB and 6/128GB with eMMC 5.1. Only the latter is available in Nepal. The internal storage is also expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.
Camera
There is a 48MP primary sensor in the quad-camera setup of the Gionee M12. It features PDAF with an f/1.8 aperture. A secondary camera is a 5MP ultra-wide sensor with a 115-degree field of view. Further, two 2MP macro and depth lenses complete the whole setup. The module also holds a LED flash.
Upfront, there is a 16MP selfie shooter in a punch hole cut out. Both rear and front cameras can shoot 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. As per sound, there is a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack for music and calls.
Battery and Extras
Fueling the device is a 5,000mAh battery cell with 10W charging via USB Type-C 2.0. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics and an accelerometer and proximity for additional sensors.
Likewise, there is Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS (A-GPS) for wireless connectivity.
