And to top it off, you can see 50% more memory bandwidth on the device and up to 24GB of unified memory when compared to the first-generation chipset.
Further, while we are on the subject, the M2 processor is also the winner over the 10-core Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 16GB memory by 1.9 times. And the media engine on the chipset boasts up to 8K H.264, HEVC, ProRes encode/decode, and has also increased the bandwidth to playback multiple 4K and 8K streams.
Display and Design
Moving on, there is a 13.3-inch Retina IPS screen with 2560×1600-pixels resolution and TrueTone support. It also supports the P3 color gamut and brings a Touch Bar on top of the keyboard. The latter makes the laptop Apple’s first to bring such a feature. Likewise, there are two color configurations here – Space Grey and Silver.
