Apple iPad Air (2020) Launched with no Face Unlock

Apple iPad Air of 2020 has so much more to offer than last year’s iPad Air, meanwhile, is also cheaper than the iPad Pro yet has similar features. The device is available in two variants: Wi-Fi-model and Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The 4th generation iPad Air is in fact the first device to use the A14 chipset, which can also be seen now in the iPhone 12 lineup.

iPad Air Overview

Starting with the display, the new iPad Air has 10.9-inch Liquid Retina Display. It consists of a wide color display and a true tone display.

Meanwhile, the screen is made fingerprint-resistant with an oleophobic coating. This is why Apple iPad Air has no fingerprint lock system on the screen or face unlock and comes with a Top button ID sensor. Well, the face unlocks system could have made it difficult for users wearing a mask to unlock their device in 2020, so it’s a good thing Apple decided to remove that feature.

iPad Air of 2020 has advanced its performance using an A14 Bionic Chip of 5 nanometers, which is similar to what’s used in the iPhone 12 series. In addition to that, the 6-core CPU and 4-core GPU makes the device faster and provides good graphics. It also has neural engines for next-level machine learning capabilities. This device comes with 4GB RAM and 65/256GB of storage. However, iPad Air is still a 4G-network device.

While every other smartphone is upgrading themselves to introduce multiple rear cameras, this one here consists of only one 12MP wide camera. But to think logically, a tablet doesn’t require another fancy camera because of the size or purpose the device is used. Furthermore, the front camera comes with a 7MP, serves the purpose of FaceTime or any video calling options.

The battery is still not a much-praised feature of this Apple iPad. It is equipped with a non-removable 28.6W Lithium-polymer battery that lasts up to 10 hours (Wi-Fi models) and 9 hours (Wi-Fi + Cellular models) of surfing time. Even smartphone these days offers twice the battery life as the new iPad Air 2020.
