We have now received a new retro gaming console from Evercade. It goes by the name Evercade EXP which is just a handheld gaming console that has started sale in the United States. In this article, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of Evercade EXP in Nepal.
Evercade EXP Overview
Display and Design
We saw the first installment of Evercade – a handheld gaming console back in 2020. And now, we have seen its successor – Evercade EXP with a similar form factor as its predecessor. However, the new one has the inscribed button letters. And to top it off, you can see that the device has two new buttons – R2 and L2. It also has A and B buttons for gaming portrait mode. However, the standard button layout still lacks a joystick which is quite a disappointment.
There is a start and select buttons on the device which are accompanied by the menu button on the right side. Further, it boasts a 4.3-inch IPS LCD screen with 800×480-pixels resolution. There is a single-color configuration of White but also a limited black edition with some other accessories.
Performance
The device is driven by a 1.5GHz processor that brings 4GB of in-built memory. There are more than 300 games in Evercade’s cartridge ecosystem and the EXP supports most of them. In addition, there is a TATE mode specially designed for classic vertical games. You can turn the device by 90 degrees and the games like Toaplan’s Truxton and Atari’s Centipede can be enjoyed while in the vertical mode. This can be accomplished by the A and B buttons.

Fueling the device is a 3,000mAh battery cell that gives us a usage time of 4 – 5 hours. Likewise, the charging is done via the USB Type-C port here. And for wireless connectivity, there is Wi-Fi support as well. Lastly, if you wish to play the games on an external monitor, you can connect the two devices via the HDMI port on the console.

Evercade EXP Price in Nepal
The device has just been announced and will be available in the market in the United State from winter 2022. However, the price has been fixed at USD 150 from the standard version with IREM Arcade 1 Collection and a USB Type-C cable. Likewise, the Limited edition with bundled carrying case, double-sided poster, art card, keyring, and certificate authenticity at just USD 227. If Evercade EXP ever launches in Nepal, we estimate its price to be around NPR 22,000 and ranging up to NPR 32,000.
