Design and Display
The big difference between the Mi Band 5 and Mi Band 6 is the screen. Although we can’t identify which is which without a closer look, Mi Band 6 features a 1.56-inch screen with 152×486-pixel resolution whereas Band 5 had a smaller 1.1-inch screen with 126×29 resolution.
The AMOLED display panel boasts 326 PPI density while having an adjustable brightness of up to 450 nits. Moreover, the bezels have been cut off to some level for a better pixel experience on a slightly bigger screen. Like the previous band 5, this is also water-resistant up to 5 ATM. This can endure up to 50 ft for 10 minutes.
Health
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 packs a PPG heart rate sensor. You can check your whole-day heart rate, resting heart rate, and even the heart rate curve. For sleep monitoring, it can detect deep sleep, light sleep, power naps, and even the REM or Rapid Eye Movement. It also has a SpO2 sensor which was not available in the Mi Bands before that.
Moreover, breathing exercises, PAI vitality index assessment, idle alerts, step counter, and goal setting features come packing with the band. The stress monitoring during our daily tasks is quite good in this fitness tracker. Further, it has a 6-axis sensor. Yes!! That’s right!! A 6-axis sensor that includes a low power-consumption 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope.
Mi band 6 ships with a women’s health tracking system which will track your menstrual cycles. Women won’t be needing an extra app or a tracker for them. There is also a system for ovulation phase alerts.
Fitness
Mi Band 6 sports 30 different fitness modes. Some of them are treadmill, freestyle, outdoor running, cycling, walking, yoga, bowling, boxing, Zumba, and so on. There is an autodetection system that will automatically detect 6 of the workout routes are you following.
Battery and Extras
Fueling the band is a 125mAh battery with a magnetic charge base. The charging time is less than 2 hours and the battery life approximately 14 days. This is without using the workout feature. This is comparatively good because Mi Band 5 only gave us a week without using the workout facility.
Other features include message/call notifications, app alerts, calendar, alarm, stopwatch, find my phone, unlock phone (MIUI), camera remote shutter, weather, and set activity goals.
