Nubia Z50 Ultra: The Ultimate Flagship Smartphone?

Nubia Z50 Ultra has a notch-free AMOLED display and has been revealed to have unique 35mm and 85mm camera lenses. Late last year, ZTE released the Nubia Z50 in China. A new “Ultra” sibling has entered the smartphone family.

Let’s discuss the Nubia Z50 Ultra’s features and anticipated price in Nepal.

Design

For the Z50 Ultra, ZTE opted for a flat-frame, boxy appearance as opposed to the Z50’s curved edges. On the back, there is a two-tone color scheme that is particularly noticeable in the upper half of the camera module.

Gray and Black are the two colors that are offered for the Nubia Z50 Ultra.

Display

One of the main highlights of this phone is its notch-less AMOLED display. The phone has a 6.8-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. You also get a touch sampling rate of 960Hz.

For reducing eye strains, ZTE has provided a 1440Hz PWM dimming while for sunlight readability, the screen bags a peak brightness of 1500 nits. Furthermore, the notch-less screen also supports 10-bit colors, and a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut.

Camera Features

The custom 35mm and 85mm lenses on this smartphone are another appealing feature. The main camera has a unique 35mm focal length and is the same 64MP Sony IMX787 from the Nubia Z50. A second 64MP periscope camera has an 85mm focal length for zoomed images. Both lenses are OIS-capable.

Users also receive a 50MP ultrawide-angle camera with autofocus (AF) and a macro lens. In addition, the back camera now has multi-channel spectral sensors and a ring-shaped LED flash for better color accuracy in low light.

At the front, ZTE includes a 16MP OmniVision OV16E1Q selfie camera concealed beneath the display. Its has extra big pixels measuring 2.24 m in diameter and uses fourth-generation Neovision under-display technology to capture 30% more light.

Also, there is an AI super-sensing engine and image super-transparency improvement technology that enable video calls to have screens that are up to 50% more transparent.

Performance

As expected, the Ultra variant of the Nubia Z50 gets the horsepower from a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This 4nm SoC boasts a 1+4+3 architecture with a Cortex-X3-based Prime core, Cortex-A715 and Cortex-A710 performance cores, and Cortex-A510 efficiency cores. Adreno 740 handles the graphics rendering for gaming.

Nubia Z50 Ultra Specifications
