OnePlus Nord 2 5G goes official in Nepal: Excellent features at a decent price

OnePlus launched Nord 2 5G in the global market on July 22. And within few days, it has entered the Nepali market and will be available from July 28. It is the first smartphone launched after the Oppo-OnePlus merger. Here, we will look at the specs, features, availability, and the official price of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G in Nepal.

Design and Display

OnePlus Nord 2 5G flaunts a 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED display with an impressive refresh rate of 90Hz. It boasts HDR10+ contents with 1080×2400-pixel capacity while sporting an 85.8% screen-to-body ratio and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, the screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has an approximate PPI density of 409.

As per the design, Nord 2 is built on a polycarbonate frame with glass on both front and back. 189 grams weight of the device is within the dimension of 158.9×73.2×8.3mm. Further, it has an iconic alert slider and a single punch-hole cutout to hold the front-facing camera.

There are three color configurations for the OnePlus Nord 2 5G – Blaze Haze, Gray Sierra, and Green Woods. The first two feature a dual-layer 3D AG glass whereas the last one is a Vegan leather finished and is only available in India.

Performance and Memory

The new Nord installment runs along with Android 11 on top of the OnePlus’s in-house OxygenOS 11.3 merged with OPPO’s ColorOS. The handset powers with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 based on a 6nm manufacturing process. To note, this is the first OnePlus phone with a MediaTek chipset. The additional AI features and the Open Resource Architecture make the performance boost at a very high level.

The octa-core (1×3.0GHz Cortex-A78 & 3×2.6GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×2.0GHz) CPU is accompanied by the Arm Mali-G77 MC9 processor. The 8/128GB and 12/256GB of UFS 3.1 are the memory options to choose from. Unfortunately, the internal storage can not be expanded in any way.

OnePlus has assured two years of major software updates and one more year of security updates. Moreover, there is a game optimization app called OnePlus Game for more enhanced gaming performance. The refresh rate amidst the games would be very high even on the games like Brawl Stars. More games are expected to be added in the coming time.

Moving on, while streaming the YouTube videos, you get a Color Boost feature making the display amazing with all the color pops.

Camera

OnePlus Nord 2 5G brings a notable improvement in the camera field with AI enhancement facility and DOL-HDR in both photo and video part of the experience. It has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with an OIS feature. 4K video shoots at 30 frames per second make a very good impression. Completing the setup is an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP monochrome camera.

Likewise, there is a 32MP IMX615 selfie shooter in a single punch-hole cutout above the screen. It can shoot Nightscape Ultra, Dual Video, and Night Portraits.

Battery and Extras

Fueling the device is a medium Lithium Polymer battery cell of 4,500mAh power with 65W fast charging. The brand claims 30 minutes for a full charge from one to a hundred. Previously, the OnePlus Nord had 30W charging support. On the contrary, the cell divides into two parts, and the charging happens via USB Type-C 2.0.

For biometrics, there is an optical under-display fingerprint sensor and a face unlock system. Likewise, an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass packs as additional sensors. Moreover, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and an infrared blaster are present for wireless connectivity.
