Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is a combination of cutting-edge technology, advanced processing power, and energy efficiency. This chipset is designed to enhance the user experience by providing lightning-fast performance, AI capabilities, and excellent battery life.
The good news is that we won’t have to wait long to find out because gadgets using the technology should start showing up as early as this month according to Qualcomm’s announcement.
Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2: Performance
Qualcomm has promised significant incensement in performance and power efficiency in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The primary Kryo CPU core has a 2.91GHz clock speed, and the 1+3+4 CPU package outperforms the SD7 Gen 1 by over 50%. Qualcomm’s AI Engine promises 40% more battery savings per watt.
Additional platform characteristics include Auto Variable Rate Shading, which uses less power and resources by rendering gaming scenes in the foreground in high resolution and the backdrop in low resolution. Moreover, the Volumetric Rendering, which made its debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform, is present.
An 18-bit Qualcomm Spectra Triple ISP is available for photography, and it is fully committed to improving low-light photography, up to 200MP photo capture, up to 4K films at 60fps, and 18-bit RAW photo capture. Also, the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System contributes to connectivity by supporting up to Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth version 5.3, Bluetooth Low Energy Audio, NFC, 22 MIMO (mmWave), 44 MIMO (Sub-6), up to 4.4 Gbps download speeds, and more.
Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2: Specifications
In terms of specifications, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 appears to be a slight drop from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 from the previous year. Although the company didn’t disclose many details about the GPU, it has the same core structure but operates at a lower clock frequency. Qualcomm has stated that “it boasts up to 2x enhanced performance,” which is presumably in comparison to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
