After smartphones under Rs. 10000 and Rs. 15000, let’s have a look at the best smartphone under 20000 in Nepal. This is the segment where the entry-level budget smartphones get really really good. A couple of years back nothing proper would come off 20000 and we had to spend the extra buck for better devices. Nowadays the competition has risen and more feature-packed phones are costing way less than they would a few years ago. Wanting to buy a budget phone and willing to spend around Rs. 20000? then please have a look at our top picks for the price:
Best Smartphone Under 20000 in Nepal
5. Samsung A20s
Starting the list is from Samsung and as I told in earlier posts, the budget segment devices from Korean tech giants have improved than of the yesteryears. I think the budget segment has a lot to offer to the people and the competition is doing nothing but delivering bang-on value for the price to the customers. Samsung has followed the same trend as their Chinese rivals as the Chinese phones have somehow grasped the budget market here in Nepal. This successor of A20 is here to turn your head around and still make people spend money to buy Samsung at a budget price.
Powering up the A20s is a Snapdragon 450 chip with an LCD panel as a display which is a kind disappointment as its predecessor came with an AMOLED panel. Instead, it has triple camera setup on the back i.e. a 13 MP wide-angle shooter, An 8 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a new 5 MP depth sensor. Its weird move but an extra camera instead of an ever-famous AMOLED panel, I didn’t understand what Samsung is trying to do here. Nonetheless, it still is a good phone that comes with a pretty big 4000 mAh battery and Storage-wise there are two variants 3/32 GB and 4/64 GB. If are a Samsung fan this is one of the best smartphone under 20000 in Nepal.
Samsung A20s Price in Nepal: Rs. 19,000 (3/32 GB), Rs. 20,000 (4/64 GB)
4. Honor 10 Lite
Next off the list is a gorgeous looking phone from Huawei and I must say that shiny gradient finish is quite an eye-catching and this is surely one of the best looking phones in this segment. Huawei might be unpopular these days due to forceful ditching of the Google Mobile Services but under 20000 Honor 10 Lite is an impressive looking and performing phone.
An in house manufactured Kirin 710 powers the device which is a quite powerful one for the budget segment. A 6.1 inches IPS LCD FHD+ display comes out of the box. There are higher variants for the device but 3/32 GB variant and the 3/64 GB variant are only available here in Nepal. This spec is just enough to provide your daily needs as a daily driver.
On the camera front, it has a dual set up in the back, a 13 MP main shooter and a 2 MP depth sensor. The front camera is where it is interesting, there is a 24 MP selfie shooter under the notch that will also unlock your phone. A physical fingerprint sensor is present in the back as a security option. Battery wise it’s a little disappointing, as it provides only 3400mAh cell under the hood.
Honor 10 Lite Price in Nepal: Rs. 18,000 (3/32 GB), Rs. 20,500 (3/64 GB)
3. Realme 3
This sub-brand from Realme has been known to deliver feature-rich phones at a decent price and here in Nepal it is fairly young compared to others in the list and has started to gain attention as well. Like Xiaomi phones in the past, it is quite expensive compared to other countries and we hope that will change soon and I must say Realme is a good phone having decent specs that have given it place in our number 3.
This device is powered by the Helio P60 coupled with either 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM having storage option of 32 GB or 64 GB respectively. Like most of the phones in this segment, this phone comes with a dual-camera setup one being a 13 MP primary shooter with a 2 MP depth sensor and for selfies you have a 13 MP lens for face recognition as well. A physical fingerprint scanner is available on the back for unlocking your phone and other security purposes. A 4320 mAh juices up the device that will get you a decent usage up to a day or two depending upon your usage.
Realme 3 Price in Nepal: Rs. 16,500 (3/32 GB), Rs. 20,000 (4/64 GB)
2. Realme 5i
Another Realme on the list and this feature-rich phone from Realme and the younger sibling from the ever so popular “5” series has gained first-runner up a spot in our list.
Realme 5i is powered up by Snapdragon 665 and is coupled up with similar variants as the Realme 3 i.e the 3/32 GB and 4/64 GB variants. Camera-wise, you will find a quad-camera setup on the back being the 12 MP primary shooter, and 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP depth sensor and a 2 MP macro lens. An 8 MP selfie shooter is present inside the nowadays popular “teardrop notch”. The display provided here is a 5.52 inches HD+ IPS panel and juicing up the device is a massive 5000 mAh battery with no fast charging option which can be a bit of a disappointment but still not a deal-breaker though in this segment.
Realme 5i Price in Nepal: Rs. 20,990 (4/64 GB)
1. Redmi Note 8
And we have a winner from the house of Xiaomi, the ever so popular the Redmi note series and the device that tops the list is the Redmi Note 8. Redmi Note series has hit all the right spot in the budget device market of the country making it the most successful series and Redmi Note 8 lack no behind. It has similar specs like the Realme 5i i.e. the Snapdragon 665, a quad-camera setup, etc.
But battery wise it has only 4000 mAh to juice up the device but has provided an 18 W fast charging option with fast charger out of the box. Inside the quad-camera setup, it has a jaw-dropping 48 MP Samsung sensor as a primary lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, 2 MP macro lens and another 2 MP depth sensor. The camera doesn’t live up to its numbers for the 48 MP tag with the inbuilt software but with GCam it can do wonders. There are two variants for the device being the 4/64 GB and 6/128 GB as options but 4/64 GB is the one that will cost less but if you want extra RAM and ROM you can consider its top variant. With all these specs and the minimal price it can be considered one of the best smartphone under 20000 in Nepal.
Redmi Note 8 Price in Nepal: Rs. 19,000 (4/64 GB)
Redmi Note 7 (Honorable Mention)
Wondering why we kept this smartphone in our list? We have listed Redmi Note 7 under honourable mention because it is a good phone for this but a year older. Despite being a generation older this device can outperform many devices under Rs. 20000 in 2019, kudos Xiaomi Nepal. It stayed silent in the market as well as the Pro version got the accolades but trust me Redmi Note 7 is also a good device for under 20000.
This device comes with 6.3 inches FHD+ LCD display and is powered by the Snapdragon 660 and by any means it does not look like the phone from the previous generation. On the storage front, it comes with 32/64/128 GB variants with 3 or 4 GB as RAM options. It has a dual-camera setup, a 48 MP being the primary sensor and another 5 MP being the depth sensor. For selfies and face recognition a 13 MP camera is present inside the notch. A 4000 mAh juices up the device that supports 18 W fast charging.
If you want hands around this device it will cost you 20000 rupees for the 3/32 version which is quite strange from Xiaomi as new Note 8 comes with 4/64 with 1000 rupee less and more features.
