Micromax has launched a new phone in the Indian market. It had been lying on the back saddle since 2014 and last year, it entered the front with Micromax IN 1b and now it has released its successor – Micromax IN 2b. Display and Design
The new Micromax IN 2b flaunts a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel with 720×1600-pixel resolution. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and the screen-to-body ratio of 89%. There is a 400nits of typical brightness and 269 PPI density. Above the screen, there is a teardrop notch that holds the front-facing camera. Likewise, below the screen lies a big bezel indicating that it is yet another budget smartphone in the market.
As per the design, the phone resembles the Redmi 9T (9 Power) with its radiating glow in the rear panel. It also has a fingerprint scanner for biometrics and a dual-camera module for optics in the back. The former might result in its downgrade when we compare it to its competitors. It weighs 190 grams while embedding the dimension of 164.3×75.7×8.6mm. Further, there are three color configurations – Blue, Black, and Green.
Performance and Memory
Powering the device is a Unisoc T610 chipset based on a 12nm manufacturing process. It is an octa-core SoC that integrates two Cortex-A75 and six Cortex-A55 cores all clocked at the speed of 1.8GHz. Here, Arm’s Mali G52 MP2 handles the graphics depart.
There are two memory configurations in the device. However, this means there are two RAM variants – 4/6GB, both teamed up with the same internal storage 64GB of eMMC 5.1. On the software front, the phone boots on stock Android 11. To top it off, Micromax is also promising 2 years of Android updates. This means there has been no upgrade on the camera depart from last years’ IN 1b. Upfront, there is a 5MP selfie shooter. Moreover, the back camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
