Nokia has unveiled two new entry-level smartphones in the market. They succeeded last year’s Nokia C20 and Nokia C20 Plus and are named next in the lineup – Nokia C21 and Nokia C21 Plus respectively. The handsets come with the Go-Edition of Android 11 and Unisoc processors. In this post, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Nokia C21 Plus in Nepal.
Nokia C21 Plus Overview
Design and Display
The new Nokia C21 Plus has a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with a waterdrop notch that holds the front-facing camera. Like the Nokia C21, the Plus version also has thick bezels with Nokia Branding on the lower end. The body weighs around 191 grams which is less than the C21 which was 195 grams. The metal body is supposed to make the phone sturdier and more durable with scratch-resistant glasses and IP52 certified body for water and dust resistance. It is available in two color options – Dark Cyan and Warm Gray.
The IPS LCD screen boasts an 82.1% screen-to-body ratio whereas the 720×1600 pixels resolution supports a 20:9 aspect ratio with an approximate pixel density of 269.
Performance and Memory
The powering factor of the Nokia C21 Plus is the same as that of the regular C21. Both use a Unisoc SC9863A processor based on a 28nm fabrication process. The PowerVR GE8322 is accompanied by the eight Cortex-A55 (4×1.6GHz + 4×1.2GHz) chipset. The performance is closer to Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 or MediaTek Helio P22.
The handset packs the Go-Edition Android 11 same as the Nokia C21. Nokia confirms two years of security patches but there is no mention of any major OS upgrades. There are four memory configurations available for the phone – 2/32GB, 3/32GB, 3/64GB, and 4/64GB of eMMC 5.1. The internal storage is also expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.
Camera and Audio
The most notable transition of the C21 Plus is that it brings a dual camera setup inside the rectangular camera module. Before this, the C20, C20 Plus, and C21 all had circular camera islands. There is a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth lens with LED flash support.
Upfront, it flaunts a 5MP selfie camera in a teardrop notch and like the C21, it also has its own LED flash. The video support is 1080p from the rear camera and 720p from the rear but both at 30 frames per second. Over to the audio front, the model has a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack for music and FM radio.
Rest of the specs
There are two battery options for the C21 Plus – 4,000mAh and 5,050mAh. However, both ship with a 10W charging adapter. The charging and data transfer are done through a micro USB 2.0 port.
For biometrics, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Likewise, it sports Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2, and A-GPS for connectivity. Lastly, an accelerometer and proximity handle the sensor depart.
