Nubia has unveiled a new flagship gaming series smartphone in the Chinese market. There are two smartphones in the series – Nubia Red Magic 7 and Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro. The series has some great features including the 135W flash charging capacity and a custom Red Core 1 gaming chip. Here, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro in Nepal.
Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro Overview
Display and Design
Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro sports a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 960Hz of the touch sampling rate. The device has Full HD+ resolution alongside 600nits of typical brightness. The pixel capacity and density here measures 1080×2400 and 387 respectively. There are some added features to the vanilla Red Magic 7 such as 100% DCI-P3 coverage, DC Dimming, 10-bit color depth, and so on. The screen here gets its protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Further, there are some pressure-sensitive zones with 500Hz touch-sensing capabilities. The screen holds the front-facing camera under the display which makes it the first gaming phone with an under-display selfie shooter.
The handset weighs 235 grams and embeds the dimension of 166.3×77.1×10mm. There is an Aviation aluminum middle frame here while the front and back are glass-made. There are three color options available for the model – Cyber Night, Night knight, and Deuterium Transparent Edition. The latter has the logo and lights on the turbofan whereas the other two have RGB backlighting and breathing lights on the Red Magic logo.
Performance and Memory
Powering the new gaming handset is the Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor based on a 4nm fabrication process. Nubia has also coupled the chipset with its own Red Core 1 chip that improves the gaming capability of the phones. This works with the shoulder trigger button by providing it 500Hz of the touch sampling rate. Further, the vibration, lighting, and sound during the games will also be enhanced with the help of mentioned chip.
As per memory, you can have the RAM configuration from 12GB to 18GB and the internal storage from 128GB to 1TB of UFS 3.1. You can no further expand the latter because there is no place for a microSD card.
There is an ICE 8.0 cooling system on the Red Magic 7 pro that leads to sustained performance. The system integrates a nine-layer heat dissipation structure accompanied by a turbofan capable of spinning at 20,000 RPM.
The new canyon air duct inside the phone also adds up as a second air inlet. Nubia claims to increase the airflow by 35% and the Core temperature thus remains 30 Celsius.
You can also buy an external Turbo Cooler if you required even better cooling. There is some theory that suggests that the extra cooling accessory can improve heat dissipation by 17% while also being 3dB quieter than other similar accessories.
Over to the software front, the handset boots on Android 12 based on Nubia’s own Red Magic OS 5.0. This software brings a big improvement to the CPU, GPU, and memory. Even the Touch Choreographer brings some improvements which means there might be more stable frames per second during your games.
Red Magic 7 pro also supports 120Hz wireless projection, direct screen recording, and screen-casting. You will be allowed to record your gameplay at 120Hz in 1080p H.26 format. Moreover, the improved Game Space here allows us to tweak the performance of the phone while also optimizing the shoulder buttons.
Camera and Audio
Under the hood, there is a triple camera setup on the device. It has a 64MP primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture, 0.7-microns pixel capacity, and PDAF support. Likewise, another is an 8MP ultrawide sensor with a 120-degree field of view and a 2MP camera for macro shots. The camera module also holds an LED flash for better night shots. They can also record videos up to 8K resolution at the rate of 30 frames per second.
Upfront, there is a 16MP selfie shooter that lies optically inside the screen. Here, the video capacity limits up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. For audio, there is a loudspeaker system with stereo speakers that tunes out 32-bit/38kHz audio. You can also use a 3.5mm headphone jack for music and calls.
Battery and Extras
Fueling the device is a medium 5,000mAh battery with 135W fast charging support. Nubia claims to charge the battery 0-100% in just 15 minutes. However, if it ever launches in the global market, it will have 65W flash charging. Nubia will have 165W GaN chargers on the box which can be used to charge laptops and other devices as well.
For biometrics, there is an optical under-display fingerprint sensor and a software-based face unlock. Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Furthermore, there are connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO), NFC, and a USB Type-C 3.0.
