Oppo Nepal has received a new model – 3/32GB of A16k in the Nepali market. However, this is just a toned downed version of Oppo A16 that is already available in Nepal. Here, we will look at the difference between Oppo A16k and A16 alongside the new price of the former in Nepal.
Oppo A16k Overview
Display and Design
Both the phones – Oppo A16k and A16 bring the same 3D-curved body with the same weight of 175 grams and thickness of 7.9mm. The plastic frame here embeds a glass front and a plastic back. It is available in two different color options – Black and Blue.
Likewise, the IPS LCD screen here measures 6.52-inch with a screen-to-body ratio of 83.0%. It boasts HD+ resolution with 71% NTSC coverage, 480nits typical brightness, 720×1600-pixels capacity, and 269 PPI density. Also, the typical brightness is limited to 480nits.
Then, the display gets its protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Further, there is a waterdrop notch that holds the front-facing camera and a chin that is quite big and thus can be noticed easily.
Performance and Memory
Powering the device is a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset based on a 12nm manufacturing process. It integrates an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53(@2.3GHz) and four Cortex-A53(@1.8GHz) alongside a PowerVR GE8320 graphics processor.
The device runs on Android 11 on top of ColorOS 11.1. You can see three memory configurations – 3/32GB, 4/64GB, and 8/128GB of eMMC 5.1 among which only the second one 4/64GB is available in the Nepali market. You can also expand your internal storage up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.
Camera and Audio
Over to the optical front, there is a square-camera bump with a single camera of 13MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, 1.12-microns pixel capacity, 80-degree FOV, and PDAF support. The module looks nothing like that of the Oppo A16 where you can see a circular module with a dual-camera setup.
Upfront, there is a 5MP selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture inside the waterdrop notch we discussed earlier. Here, both front and back cameras can record up to 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. As per audio, there is a loudspeaker system to deliver an excellent sound. You can also use the 3.5mm headphone jack for music and calls.
Rest of the specs
Fueling the device is a non-removable Li-Po 4,230mAh battery with 10W charging support. Unfortunately, you cannot see a fingerprint scanner for biometrics but must make it do with patterns, passwords, and pins only. Other sensors are an accelerometer, proximity, and compass. Moreover, the connectivity options here include Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS).
