Oppo entered the tablet market last year with its first-ever tablet – Oppo Pad. And now, it has expanded its tablet collection with a new one which is a cheap alternative to its first installment. It is named Oppo Pad Air and we will be discussing its specs, features, and its availability as well as the price in Nepal.
Oppo Pad Air Overview
Display and Design
Beginning with the design, the Pad is flat-edged and topped with squared-off edges with the two-tone appearance we also saw in Oppo Pad from last year. However, it adds a textured pattern with a shine, a new feature from the first Oppo tablet. Oppo claims that the pattern is projected with a five-layer process design. Likewise, the rear panel of the device is designed to keep it safe from fingerprints and smudges.
The device weighs 440 grams and measures 245.1×154.8×6.9mm in dimension. It also supports a stylus and an intelligent Bluetooth keyboard. It comes in two color options – Fog Gray and Star Silver. Further, the 10.36-inch IPS LCD screen in the new Oppo Pad Air brings a 2K resolution alongside a 71% NTSC color gamut and 360-nits of typical brightness level. It still boasts the same 60Hz refresh rate with 1200×2000-pixels resolution.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, Oppo Pad Air is powered up with Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset based at 6nm of the manufacturing process. It integrates an octa-core CPU with four Kryo 265 Gold (@2.4GHz) and four Kryo 265 Silver (1.9GHz) cores coupled with the Adreno 610 graphics processor. Over to the software front, the tablet boots on Android 12 on top of ColorOS 12.
As per memory, there are three configurations – 4/64GB, 4/128GB, and 6/128GB of UFS 2.2. You can also expand the internal storage up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Moreover, there is a massive 7,100mAh battery cell with an 18W fast charging capacity to fuel the tablet.
Camera and Audio
Moving on, there are two cameras in the new Oppo device. The one in the rear camera is an 8MP lens with an f/2.0 aperture that can record videos up to 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second. Similarly, it has a 5MP selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture with the same video recording capacity as the rear camera.
For audio, there is a loudspeaker system with stereo speakers in the quad setup. They are placed symmetrically and also support Dolby Atmos. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm headphone port which means we need to use Bluetooth for the headphone connections.
Rest of the specs
Oppo Pad Air charges via USB Type-C 2.0 which can also be used for the data transfer. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth 5.1. Furthermore, the sensors are an accelerometer, gyro, and proximity.
