Oppo Reno 7 Z 5G: The latest installment on the Reno 7-series

Oppo launched its Reno 7 series back in November. The Pro version received the warmest welcome among the three smartphones. However, the vanilla and SE versions haven’t received the expected ones. And now, it has added a new installment on the lineup – Oppo Reno 7 Z 5G. Here, we will dig into the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of Oppo Reno 7 Z 5G in Nepal.

Display and Design

To begin with, the Oppo Reno 7 Z 5G sports a 6.43-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It boasts 430nits of typical brightness and 600nits of HDR. A pixel capacity and pixel density are measuring 1080×2400 and 409 respectively. It is also IPX4 rated against dust and water resistivity.

The screen gets its protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It weighs 173 grams and embeds the dimension of 159.9×73.2×7.5mm. It has RGB ring lights around the cameras which light up for notifications and during the charging process. There are two color options available for the model – Black and Rainbow.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, the 7 Z 5G from Reno 7-series is powered up with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor based on a 6nm manufacturing process. It comes with an octa-core CPU core clocked at the maximum speed of 2.2GHz. Likewise, the graphics depart is handled by Adreno 619.

As per memory, there is a single configuration – 8/128GB of UFS 2.2. You can also expand the internal storage up to 1TB via a microSD card. On the software front, the device boots on Android 11 on top of ColorOS 12.

Camera and Audio

Moving on to optics, there is a triple camera setup on the back of Oppo Reno 7 Z 5G. It has a 64MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and PDAF support. Further, there are two 2MP lenses with an f/2.4 aperture which makes the macro and portrait shots easy.

Upfront, there is a 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture and 1.0-microns pixel capacity. Here, the rear camera can shoot 4K videos at 30fps, but the front camera limits up to 1080p. However, both have the support for gyro-EIS which leads to better shots.

For audio, there is a loudspeaker system with stereo speakers integrated into the handset. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack for calls and music here and you can see its good compatibility with other Bluetooth devices.

Fueling the handset is a non-removable lithium-polymer 4,500mAh battery cell with 33W fast charging support. Oppo claims to charge it from 0-31% in 15 minutes and 0-100% in 63. It also supports reverse charging whose capacity is yet to be known. For biometrics, there is an optical under-display fingerprint and a software-based face unlocks.

Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and color spectrum. Likewise, there is Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS, NFC, and a USB Type-C 2.0.

The official price of Oppo Reno 7 Z 5G in the global market or in Nepal is yet to be disclosed but we estimate its price to come close to NPR 50,000.
