Vivo has launched two new smartphones in the market – Vivo V23 and Vivo V23 Pro. They pack some excellent features and are already official in the Indian market. They are rumored to hit the Nepali market soon as well. However, the Pro version is just the rebranded Vivo S12 Pro which is exclusive in China. The only difference between these two is that the S12 Pro had Origin OS Ocean teamed with Android 11 and the V23 Pro has Android 12 on top of Funtouch OS 12. Here, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Vivo V23 Pro in Nepal.

Vivo V23 Pro Overview

Display and Design

The new Vivo V23 Pro sports a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ contents. It has a pixel capacity of 1080×2376 and a pixel density of 398. The screen is protected by a glass front which is a Schott Xensation Up type. The back also has glass protection but a regular one of course.

The handset weighs 171 grams while embeds the dimension of 159.5×73.3×7.4mm. There are two color options available – Sunshine Gold and Stardust Black.

Performance and Memory

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 chipset based on a 6nm manufacturing process. It integrates an octa-core (1×3.0 GHz Cortex-A78 & 3×2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU coupled with Arm’s Mali-G77 MC4 graphics processor.

As per memory, there are two configurations – 8/128GB and 12/256GB. You cannot expand the internal storage further since there is no dedicated or shared microSD card slot. Further, the phone boots on Android 12 on top of Funtouch 12 at the software front.

Camera and Audio

Under the hood, Vivo V23 Pro packs a triple camera setup with a 108MP primary sensor of f/1.9 aperture and PDAF support. It also has an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view. Lastly, the setup is completed by a 2MP macro shooter with an f/2.4 aperture. The camera bump also holds a Dual-LED flash for better night shots.

Upfront, there is a dual-camera setup of a 50MP wide lens and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. The latter has a 105-degree field of view with an f/2.3 aperture. Both front and back cameras can record 4K videos at the rate of 30 frames per second and the rear camera even has gyro-EIS support.

Moving on, there is a loudspeaker system that emits 24-nit/192kHz audio. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack for calls and other purposes.

Battery and Extras

Fueling the device is a 4,300mAh battery cell with 44W fast charging support. Vivo has claimed that it can fill the juice from 1 to 63% in just 30 minutes. For biometrics, there is an optical under-display fingerprint sensor and a software-based face unlocks.

Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. It can also change the color of its back panel when it’s exposed to sunlight. Likewise, there is Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS, NavIC), USB Type-C, and a region-dependent NFC for connectivity.
