Honor has officially launched the first-ever foldable phone featuring Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Here, we will dig into the specs, features, expected price, and availability of Honor Magic V in Nepal.

The new Honor Magic V sports a 6.45-inch exterior screen with a standard refresh rate of 120Hz. It also boasts 1000-nits of brightness levels and an excellent aspect ratio of 21.3:9. This results in the users having the experience of a regular smartphone even when the phone stays unfolded. Likewise, there is a 7.9-inch flexible OLED screen with a 90Hz of refresh rate and 2272×1984-pixels resolutions. It also has an aspect ratio of 10.3:9 divided into two areas to 21:9. Further, there is HDR10+ support alongside 10-bit color depth and a peak brightness of 800nits. Not to forget, this is the first foldable phone to be certified for IMAX Enhancement.
Moving on, the hinge of the handset folds like a water droplet which means it’s like the Oppo Find N. This means it folds flat without a gap between the halves of the screen. The hinge is built from aerospace-grade materials and measures 14.3mm while folds while the unfolded times, it measures 6.7mm. This results that the Honor Magic V being the thinnest foldable smartphone that exists to date. Lastly, there is a rating that says the hinge will survive 10 years if we do consequent folds and unfolds approximately 50 times per day.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 based on a 4nm fabrication process. It is coupled with a single RAM configuration of 12GB that goes along either with 256GB or 512GB internal storage. On the software front, the phone boots on Android 12 on top of the new Magic UI 6. Likewise, there is a medium 4,750mAh battery cell with 66W fast charging support. Honor claims to charge halfway i.e., 0 to 50% in just 15 minutes.
