Design
We have new in-ear earbuds as Huawei FreeBuds 5i. It brings a case like a cobblestone which then holds the earbuds very nicely. Compared to FreeBuds 4i, the 5i is very lighter and shorter as well. This means it feels very comfortable to your ears. To compare exactly, the device is 18% lighter.
This happened despite the change in a battery of 410mAh instead of 215mAh in the earlier buds. Further, the device is available in three different color options – Cosmic Black, Ceramic White, and Island Blue.
Audio
Moving on, FreeBuds 5i is driven by a 10mm dynamic driver with an LDAC codec and Hi-Res Audio support. You can connect the buds to your phone with Bluetooth 5.2. It is also available to connect to multiple devices simultaneously.
Further, there is a gaming mode that lowers the latency to 94ms. It also has an Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) mode to filter out the surrounding noise up to 42dB. In addition, you can three cancellation modes – depth, balance, and mild. They can be switched individually based on the ambiance.
Battery
The device has a 410mAh battery endurance level of 6 hours with ANC and if you turn it off, you can have it extended up to 7.5 hours. Likewise, if you use the case, you can have it for up to 28 hours. If you charge it for up to 15 minutes, you can have four hours of playback time.
