Previously we talked about Huawei P40 Pro and Pro+ in this post we will talk about the expected launch date and Huawei P40 price in Nepal. Don’t be meh! with the small form factor, as it’s packed in with the similar specs from the elder siblings P40 Pros camera be a major difference. Huawei P40 series is the biggest competitor of Samsung Galaxy S20 series. We all are known with the present trade war between the US and Huawei resulting elimination of Google Mobile Services (GMS). So, these devices come with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) which can be a bit of pain for some users. Now, let’s take a deep dive into the specs, expected price and launch date in Nepal.
Huawei P40 Overview
Unlike Pro models, Huawei P40 features a 6.1 inch OLED screen with 2340 x 1080 pixels. Sadly, the refresh rate of this screen is only 60Hz which is quite disappointing as budget series devices are facilitated with 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rate including 90Hz on P40 Pros devices. Also, you can see a pill-shaped punch hole up front similar to the Pros which houses selfie camera and sensor. Huawei P40 misses out the new “Quad-curve Overflow Display” but comes with a glass back and aluminium frame which still gives you a premium feel.
Comparing P40 with the previous P30 and other competitors, the biggest improvement can be seen in the camera department. Unlike the Pro and Pro+ models, P40 misses out TOF sensor and the periscope camera but comes with a telephoto camera with is capable of 3x optical zoom. It comes with triple rear camera, 50 MP primary lens along with 8 MP telephoto lens and 16 MP ultrawide lens. Upfront, pill-shaped punch hole houses a 32 MP selfie camera and a depth sensor.
Huawei P40 series is powered by the same Kirin 990 5G chipset. It’s a 7nm+ processor which is able to keep up with the latest flagships. Coupled with Mali-G76 MP16 GPU it can deliver decent performance along with carefree gaming. For the storage options, you can either go for 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and for the storage you can go for either 128 GB or 256 GB. It’s not yet confirmed which variant will be launched in Nepal. Software-wise, P40 runs on AOSP Android 10, EMUI 10.1 on may feel snappy but its a 60Hz display. Meh!
Under the hood is a 3,800mAh battery which should last a full day on moderate usage. P40 supports 22.5W fast charging which is the oddest even watt. Also, wireless charging has left the chat for this device.
