Realme 8 launched in Nepal yesterday which was previously announced in an online event on 25th March 2021. It is an updated version of last year’s Realme 7 Pro. Design and Display:
The Realme 8 Pro flaunts the same 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display panel as the Realme 8 with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. It has a resolution of 1080×2400-pixels boosting the screen-to-body ration of 83.3% and the aspect ratio of 20:9. Moreover, there is a peak brightness of 1,000 nits which gives 411 PPI density.
The 160.6×73.9×8.1mm dimension has a glass front with a plastic frame and plastic back weighing 177gm. The Realme 8 Pro has Infinite Blue, Infinite Black, and Illuminating Yellow color options. The polycarbonate-built models have a “Dare to Leap” branding on their back.
Performance and Memory:
Similar to Realme 8, 8 Pro also runs on Android 11 based on Realme UI 2.0. However, they have different chipsets. Realme 8 has a MediaTek Helio G95 (12nm) whereas the Pro version has a Qualcomm SM7125 Snapdragon 720G (8nm). Furthermore, the Realme Pro version packs the Octa-core (2×2.3 GHz Kryo 465 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 465 Silver) with Adreno 618 graphics processor.
Moving on, it comes in two memory variants – 6/128GB and 8/128GB options. The memory has the UFS 2.1 and is expandable up to 512GB through a dedicated microSD card slot.
Camera and Sound:
Although both Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro have a quad-camera setup, there is a huge difference in the primary shooter. While Realme 8 has a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, the 8 Pro has a 108MP lens with f/1.9 aperture. Besides that, they both have an 8MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.3 aperture and two 2MP macro and depth shooters. The video support for both 8-series handsets is a 4K shoot at 30fps and 1080p at 30/60/128fps. Additionally, they have a LED flash alongside the HDR and panorama modes supports.
Upfront, they have a 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.5 aperture which supports the HDR and panorama modes but doesn’t have a LED flash. The video support is a 1080p resolution at 30/120fps.
Talking about the sound, it features a loudspeaker system with 24-bit/192kHz audio and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Battery and Extras:
Realme 8 Pro has a non-removable Li-Po 4,500mAh battery with a 50W fast charging capacity and a 65W adapter in the box. It is supposed to fuel 50% in 17 minutes and 100% in 47.
Furthermore, biometrics has an optical, under-display fingerprint sensor. Other sensors are an accelerometer, gyro meter, proximity, and compass.
Getting towards the connectivity, this model has Wi-Fi 802.11 support with an A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, and a region-dependent NFC similar to that of Realme 8. However, the Bluetooth versions are varied with a Bluetooth 5.1 in Realme 8 and a Bluetooth 5.0 in 8 Pro.
The body can endure Dual Nano-SIM in a dual standby. By the way, the phone also have a USB Type-C 2.0 for charging and data transfer purposes.
