Samsung Galaxy F23 5G launched; Won’t hit the Nepali market

Samsung has unveiled a new Galaxy smartphone in the Indian market – Galaxy F23 5G. This is the first F-series phone with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. In this article, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Samsung Galaxy F23 5G in Nepal.

Display and Design

To begin with, the Galaxy F23 5G brings a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution. To compare, last year’s F22 was limited up to HD+ display. It also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and gets protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which is the first in an F-series smartphone. Above the screen, there is a waterdrop-style notch that holds the front-facing camera.

The device weighs 198 grams and measures 8.4mm in thickness. The rear panel has a clean matte finish and there is a rectangular camera island that holds the triple camera setup. The frame and back are plastic made unlike the glass made front as we mentioned earlier. It is available in two color options – Aqua Blue and Forest Green.

Performance and Memory

Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset with an octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 570 & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 570) CPU coupled with Adreno 619 graphics processor. Over to the software front, Galaxy F23 5G boots on Android 12 on top of One UI 4.1. Samsung promises to provide two years of major OS updates and four years of security patches.

As per memory, there are two memory configurations – 4/128GB and 6/128GB. You can also expand your internal storage up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card. Further, there is a power-cool technology that keeps the smartphone cool even when you have heavy usage.

Camera and Audio

Under the hood, there is a triple camera setup led by a 50MP primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF support. Likewise, it has an 8MP ultrawide sensor with a 123-degree field of view. Lastly, the setup is completed with a 2MP macro shooter. The module also holds an LED flash for better night shots.

Upfront, there is an 8MP selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture. Both rear and front cameras can shoot 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. For audio, there is a loudspeaker system at the bottom of the phone. However, it lacks the 3.5mm headphone jack for music and calls.

Fueling the device is a non-removable Li-Po 5,000mAh battery with 235W fast charging support. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics which is followed by the software-based face unlocks. Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, compass, and Virtual Proximity Sensing.

Moreover, the connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS), NFC, FM radio (recording), and USB Type-C 2.0.

Samsung Galaxy F23 5G Price in Nepal

The new Samsung F-series smartphone Galaxy F23 5G has started sale in India at the starting price of INR 17,499 for the 4/128GB memory configurations. Likewise, the 6/128GB memory costs INR 18,499. The news is Samsung Nepal will not launch the Galaxy F23 5G here but considering the price in India, it corresponds to NPR 20,000 and NPR 23,000 respectively.
