Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 is now official: What’s new?

Samsung Galaxy M21 was very popular last year in the range of 20-30K. Last month, Galaxy M22 leaked some specs which are now expected in a few months. And now, Samsung M21 has received the 2021 edition. Let’s dig right into the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 in Nepal.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 Edition has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It has Full HD+ resolution with 1080×2340 pixels capacity. The 84.2% screen-to-body ratio teams up with the 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, it has an approximate PPI density of 403 and a peak brightness of 420 nits.

As per the design, there is an Infinity-U notch holding a front-facing camera and a virtual light sensor for automatic brightness manipulation. It has a glass front and plastic back embedded inside the plastic frame. In addition, the rear panel has a fingerprint scanner within a striped design. The color options are Charcoal Black and Arctic Blue.

Performance and Memory

Powering up the device is an Exynos 9611 which was featured in most Samsung mid-range smartphones in 2020. It is based on a 10nm manufacturing process with an octa-core CPU that has four Cortex-A73 clocked at 2.3GHz and four Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.7GHz. In addition, it teams up with Arm Mali-G72 MP3 as a graphics processor.

On the software front, there is Android 11 on top of the One UI 3.1 core. There are two memory options – 4/64GB and 6/128GB of UFS 2.1. The internal storage is also expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card.


There is a GM2 sensor in place of the GM1 sensor at the 48MP primary sensor in the optical part. It has a Super-PD Auto Focus giving us sharper images. Further, there is an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP camera for portrait shots. Both have an f/2.2 aperture. The camera module has a LED flash, and all support panorama and HDR modes.

Upfront, there is a 20MP selfie shooter inside the Infinity-U notch above the screen. While the rear camera setup can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second, the front-facing camera can only shoot 1080p videos at the same rate.

Fueling the Galaxy M21 2021 Edition is a 6,000mAh battery cell with a 15W charging adapter inside the box. The charging is done via a USB Type-C 2.0 port which also works for data transferring. For biometrics, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as mentioned before.

Likewise, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS) handles the wireless connectivity. Furthermore, other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
