Vivo has unveiled a new mid-range smartphone in the market. The phone is named Vivo V23e 4G and is a successor to V21e from last year. It entered the Nepali market back in January and now has received a price cut. However, the price is still unreasonably high. Vivo V23e Overview
Display and Design
The new Vivo V23e sports a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It boasts the same standard refresh rate of 60Hz. Above, the screen lies a waterdrop notch that holds the front-facing camera.
As we expected from a Vivo V-series smartphone, the new Vivo V23e also leads with its look and feel above every other specification. Its thickness also varies between 7.36mm and 7.41mm according to its color option. Therefore, there are two color variations available – Sunshine Coast and Moonlight Shadow.
Performance and Memory
Powering the device is MediaTek Helio G96 based on a 12nm fabrication process. This is a chipset with a little upgrade from Helio G95. It integrates an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A76 and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at the speed of 2.05GHz and 2.0GHz respectively. Likewise, the graphics depart is handled by Arm’s Mali-G57 MC2 processor.
As per memory, there is a single configuration of 8GB RAM coupled with either 128GB or 256GB internal storage. It also supports a microSD card but shares the slot with a SIM card insertion place. On the software front, there is Android 11 running on top of Funtouch 12.
Camera
Under the hood, there is a triple camera setup on the back of Vivo V23e. There lies a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.79 aperture that also supports Eye Autofocus (Eye AF). Others are an 8MP ultrawide lens of a 120-degree field of view and a 2MP sensor for macro shots.
Upfront, there is a 50MP selfie snapper lying inside the waterdrop notch above the screen we mentioned earlier. It also has Eye AF support like the rear camera. The phone also has a Dual Display Video feature meaning we can use front and rear cameras side-by-side.

Fueling the device is a medium 4,050mAh battery cell with 44W fast charging support. For biometrics, there is a software-based face unlock and a fingerprint scanner underneath the screen. Moreover, there is a hybrid SIM slot, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity.
