Nepal Telecom introduces VoLTE Service with HD Quality Voice first-ever in Nepal

VoLTE is a technology that enables high-speed data and voice transfers over a 4G network. Nepal’s first mobile network operator, Nepal Telecom, has officially launched it in the country. This tech debuted a few years ago and VoLTE has finally come to Nepal also after rigorous testing which it’s been doing since it started expanding 4G to more cities and rural areas. The telecom operator has successfully extended its LTE coverage to all 77 districts.

What is VoLTE??

VoLTE stands for ‘Voice over Long Term Evolution’.

VoLTE is a digital packet voice service that’s provided over an LTE network and offers high-quality sound-over voice calls (HD Voice Quality calls) across the LTE/4G mobile network. Utilizing IMS technology, it’s a digital packet voice service that is delivered over IP via an LTE access network.

It’s voice calls over a 4G LTE network, instead of the 2G or 3G connections that are usually used. Voice calls are far more pleasant and helpful when they are made using VoLTE. Its high-quality audio makes them stand out. With VoLTE, the audio quality is claimed to be so good that it will feel like the person on the other end is right next to you.

Now we’d like to ascertain for ourselves how true that is.

VoLTE Service in Nepal

On the occasion of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, Nepal Telecom launched the VoLTE service on May 17, 2021. This feature enables HD voice calls over an existing 4G network.

The company believes that this feature will help them modernize their services and meet the increasing demand of their users. VoLTE is a complicated 4G feature that gives HD voice calls over an LTE network. Ntc 4G service is being available in all 77 districts, so VoLTE is now available everywhere in the country but with selected smartphones.

Nepal Telecom is on its way to provide a far better network for all its users. This VoLTE service means no more screaming loudly on the phone and having a tough time hearing the person. With VoLTE we will experience ultra-clear voice quality with reduced background noises.
