Xiaomi Redmi K50: The toned-down vanilla of the Pro

Xiaomi Redmi has now unveiled two new smartphones – K50 and K50 Pro in its gaming lineup. The phone has started sale in the Chinese market and we are still unclear if it will get inside the global market. However, there is no harm in discussing the estimated price of the Redmi K50 in Nepal. Alongside the price, we will also talk about the specs, features, and availability of the model.

Redmi K50 Overview

Display and Design

Let’s begin with the display size of the new Redmi K50 which measures 6.67-inch with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz. It is an OLED display with a 3200×1440-pixel resolution and 1200nits of peak brightness level. It supports HDR10+ content and has Dolby Vision followed by an 8-bit panel that comes with DCI-P3 coverage. Likewise, the screen gets its protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Performance and Memory

Powering the device is MediaTek Dimensity 8100 based on a 5nm manufacturing process. It brings an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A78 (@2.85GHz) and four Cortex-A55 (@2.0GHz) cores. Likewise, the graphics depart is handled by Arm’s Mali-GG610.

Since this is a gaming laptop, there is a VC liquid-cooling and a 7-layer graphite surface for cooling purposes. It ships with the same VC cooling technology we saw earlier on the K50 Gaming Edition.
