Redmi K20 Pro: One plus 7 Pro killer!

When it comes to a faster processor, great tech with a cheaper price range, Xiaomi has always occupied the top place in the mobile market. Nevertheless, this time Xiaomi is back with an extraordinary device. Xiaomi calls it as a flagship killer. Redmi k20 pro in Nepal was launched.

The handset may seem like One plus 7 Pro in hand as it has similar specs as One plus 7 Pro but in a very low price range. With a success over Redmi Note 7 Pro, Xiaomi is up in the market with a great looking device that is fast enough to compete with some really expensive devices. With a notch-less screen, pop up selfie camera and triple camera setup on the back, good battery life and the latest fast processor, Xiaomi has also launched Redmi k20 pro in Nepal which is cost-effective.

Design

With this price range, Redmi K20 Pro is offering a 6.39inch AMOLED panel with 86.1% body to screen ratio. The screen is the pixel density is ~403 PPI and supports HDR and is under the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The screen looks amazing as it does not contain any notch or any punch hole on the screen. There is an on-screen fingerprint scanner beneath the screen to unlock the device.

Performance

The device looks pretty nice in hand and the glass body gives premium looks to it. The overall design and built quality of the phone are good. The device runs on the latest version of Android i.e. Android 9.0 with MIUI 10 on top. The company provides excellent RAM choice to the customers from 6GB to 8GB and the internal storage from 64GB to 256GB.

One peculiar thing is that the device doesn’t support the micro SD for external storage. The device has Snapdragon 855, a 7nm chip that is crazy fast and power-consuming and provides smooth performance to the users. It is an Octa-core chip where 1 core is clocked at 2.84GHz, 3 cores are clocked at 2.42GHz and 4 cores are clocked at 1.8 GHz.

Camera

At the camera department, Redmi K20 Pro provides a pop-up selfie camera, a new approach for the Xiaomi. The pop-up camera contains LEDs within it which can be used for notification. It is a motorized 20 MP Popup camera that can take really nice photos and can record videos at 1080p@30fps.

Similarly, the back has a triple camera that is aligned vertically in the middle of the phone. The setup offers 3 cameras, a 48 MP wide camera lens, an 8MP telephoto lens and 13 MP ultra-wide lens. The setup features include HDR, Bokeh effect, and low light photography.

Extra

The phone is powered by a non-removable Li-Po4000 mAh battery and the phone supports fast charging. A 27-watt quick charger is provided within the box along with a Type-C to a USB charging cable. This cool handset is available in 3 color options: Carbon black, Flame red and Glacier blue.

Conclusion

With all these, Xiaomi has challenged other smartphone manufacturers to deliver a great product at a reasonable price. So it is a really nice deal to purchase this device. Samsung has always pleased its customers with stunning design and innovative technology. This time Samsung has come up with a new gorgeous phone namely Samsung Galaxy A70 in Nepal. This phone is loaded with a great piece of tech and provides a great experience in the smartphone area.

Design

As its 5th smartphone in the A-series line, Samsung unveiled Galaxy A70 with an improved design and a fast processor.

This is a tall phone with a screen size 6.7 inch with a 20:9 aspect ratio which is comparatively bigger than the screen in Samsung’s latest flagship phone i.e. Galaxy S10 plus. It is a super AMOLED screen with screen resolution 2400 *1080 pixels and a pixel density of 393 PPI. The viewing angle is great and has a crispy color production which has a pleasing effect on the eyes. It has 86% screen to body ratio and is a Corning Gorilla Glass that provides enough strength to the device.

Samsung calls it as infinity U display because of its waterdrop display design. The handset is wrapped up in the glastic body and has a premium feel on the hand. The handset weighs 183 gm and has a dimension of 164.3mm*76.7mm*7.9mm. The handset is made available in 3 colors i.e. black, blue and white.

Performance

Talking about the performance, this is a fabulous performing device that runs smoothly while doing a daily task like surfing the internet, playing games, taking photos, etc. This device is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 that has a performance speed of 2GHz. Also, this device is supplied with 6GB of RAM which can easily manage the applications; so we can say that it has excellent RAM choice. For graphics, Adreno 612 is used that is supposed to provide a nice gaming experience.

This is an absolutely nice performing device. This phone can really do some great stuff like playing heavy games and playing high-quality videos without any lag.

One of the attractions of this device is its software as it is provided with the latest version of Android i.e. Android v9.0 (Pie) which is really light, smooth and user-friendly software. The device comes with 128GB internal storage and an SD card slot is provided that can support up to 512GB capacity.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy A70 is provided with a triple camera set up at the back along with a LED flash. The triple camera setup is a combination of a 32MP, an 8MP, and another 8MP sensor. Similarly, for the front camera, a 32MP sensor is used. This is a perfect camera setup for this price point that can be a very delightful experience for people who love taking photos a lot.

The camera offers the Bokeh effect, continuous shooting, exposure compensation, face detection, HDR, time-lapse, touch to focus, auto flash, ISO control, and digital zoom up to 8 times. Furthermore, this camera is capable of capturing stunning super slow-mo video and ultra-wide video. The camera can also record video up to 4K and can provide really nice video.

Extra

The fingerprint sensor has been a feature as it is an onscreen sensor but there are complaints from lots of users that it’s relatively slower than that of previous generation sensors.

The device supports 2 Nano SIM and both supports 4G VoLTE. Within the package, a 25 Watt super-fast charging adapter is provided along with a USB type C charging cable. This time the battery capacity is increased to 4500 mAh Lithium-ion battery and the battery is non-removable. This battery gives excellent battery performance. Talking about the sensors, the device is provided with sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. Also, it supports OTG and has a 3.5mm jack for headphone connection.

Conclusion

Samsung realizes its user’s demands and improves accordingly. In that context, it is probable that Samsung will rule the modern mobile industry in every aspect. Galaxy A70 could be a huge success as it has cool features. Samsung galaxy a70 in Nepal is priced at NPR. 47990 and is made available from 1st May 2019. You must be quite familiar with Brave Browser by now. Not due to its claim of being the best browser(8x faster), but my personal experience with this browser has been the main reason I am putting everything that I think it has me made to love it in this blog.

Samsung announced a new A series phone namely Samsung Galaxy A20 with the surprising price tag of NRs. 20,490/- in Nepal. This is the third smartphone from Samsung in the Galaxy A series for this year. Samsung A20 is topped up with a brilliant camera, gorgeous display, a satisfying processor and excellent battery supply.

Design

The phone is made out of a plastic body and glass on the front. The built quality of the phone is pretty nice for this price point. However, the plastic back is likely to get little scratches with the passage of time. The device has a sleek curvy design which makes the device easy to hold on hand. On the right side of the phone, there exists volume buttons and a power button. Similarly, on the left side, a triple slot tray is provided, where 2 SIM and a microSD card can be inserted at the same time.

Display

The display is a 6.4 inch super AMOLED panel with the screen resolution of 1560*720 pixels. The display comprises of 268 PPI so the viewing experience is good and shows deeper black and brighter screen. The handset consists of a teardrop notch for selfie camera with 84.79% screen to body ratio. The phone is made available in three attractive color variant: black, blue & red.

Performance

The handset runs on Exynos 7884 processor with the processing speed 1.6GHz. It is an Octa-core 64 bit processor. For the graphics card, Mali-G71 MP2 is used which is nice for playing games and gets the job done. Talking about the software, the device runs on the latest android version 9.0 with Samsung One UI. Samsung One UI is an awesome new software overlay in Samsung industries as it offers to do the task easily and provides an enjoyable environment.

Also, the UI makes easy for one-handed purpose. Playing games on this device is a pretty good experience with its AMOLED screen and provided GPU. The screen panel delivers the best color reproduction for immersive video viewing. Similarly, the device comprises of 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Also, the storage can be extended up to 512GB with the dedicated microSD slot.

Camera

Even in this price range, Samsung is offering a dual camera setup aligned vertically on the back of the phone with a flashlight. A 13 MP (f/1.9) camera is equipped as the main camera, which does a decent job while taking low light shot and a 5 MP(f/2.2)sensor for wide angle shots. After a decade with S series, Samsung has announced 3 flagship phones namely Galaxy S10, S10+ & S10e. Among these, S10 is middle ordered, feature packed device. S10 is a masterpiece of tech from Samsung with fewer flaws in it.

Design

The handset has upgraded features than that of S9 and Note 9 in terms of performance, design, camera, and display. For the first time, Samsung has announced the punch-hole display on the AMOLED panel with 87.5% screen to body ratio and an ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor beneath the screen. S10 comprises of latest and greatest hardware tech and new software experience. With the Gorilla Glass 6 protection on the screen, the handset is likely to withstand drops from small heights without any damage to the phone. The front and back of the phone are glass both are made up of Gorilla Glass 6. Also, the phone comes in 4 new color option: Prism Green, Prism Blue, Prism White, and Prism Black.

Display

Samsung’s display is concerned as the best in the mobile market. It is a 6.1 inch AMOLED panel with 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen is one of the brightest screens which can go up to ~750 NITs and has a pixel density of 551 PPI so the screen offers great viewing experience for playing games, and watching videos and other contents. A small hole is there at the top-right corner of the phone for the front camera and curved edges can be also seen at both side of the display as in Galaxy S9.

Camera

One of the greatest features of S series is its camera. S10 has a front selfie camera which is an 8MP sensor and triple cameras on the back of the phone as the main camera. The cameras are aligned horizontally and these cameras help to take really good photos. Among these 3 cameras, one is 12MP Telephoto Camera, another is 12MP Telephoto Camera and the last one is 16MP Ultra-wide Camera. The photos are clear and color contrast are more accurate as compared to Galaxy S10 and Note 9. One of the interesting fact about the camera is that it is able to take 0.4 seconds super slow-mo videos at 960 fps and 0.8 seconds super slow-mo videos at 480fps.

Moreover, capturing 4K videos is also possible, provides super steady video recording mode that helps record smooth and stabilized videos and the phone features Instagram mode, from where one can directly capture Instagram stories from the camera application. The addition of the third lens serves as an ultra-wide lens that can take wide photos and videos. It is a cool new feature of this device. Furthermore, the camera app provides AR Emoji feature. It is a nice entertaining feature where one can animate their own character.

Processor

Galaxy S10 is equipped with Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9 (9820) depending upon the region. Both are similar in performance speed. The chip is an octa-core processor whose speed is determined at 2.73 GHz. For the graphics card, Mali-G76 MP12 is used which is great for the mobile graphics card. This phone can easily handle some serious kinds of stuff with this powerful hardware. Talking about the software, this phone runs on software Samsung One UI which is based on latest android software i.e. Android 9.0(Pie). Samsung One UI is more user-friendly and handy so tasks can be done easily. There is a feature of dark mode which can be great for AMOLED panel as it saves power and provides a pleasing environment to the eyes during the night.

Samsung has approached a new technology for scanning the fingerprint sensor. It is based on Ultrasonic technology where a 3D picture is used to detect the fingerprint. Also, it detects fingerprint even if the finger is wet. Also, facial unlock is provided but it is not accurate and secure as the fingerprint sensor. The S10 offers a tray that holds both SIM (Nano-sized) and a microSD card. The external storage can be expanded up to 512 GB. The base model of S10 comes with 8 GB of RAM which is a healthy amount to run multiple apps.

Samsung Galaxy S10 has a 3400mAh Lithium-ion non-removable battery. The battery is fairly enough to power the device for full day use on a single charge. It supports fast charging and a fast charging adapter is provided within the phone. Talking about a new, cool feature, S10 offers reverse wireless charging for charging smartwatches, air pods, and even other phones wirelessly. The phone is IP68 waterproof rated i.e. the phone can be submerged in 1.5m water for 30 minutes. At the side of the body, there exists a dedicated Bixby button. This time this button can be customized as it was not possible in the previous generation phones. It can be used to open the application or to access Google Assistance. For connectivity NFC, Bluetooth, 3G, 2G, VoLTE is supported. For charging and transferring data USB type C is used and there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack which is nice for connecting headphones.

In recent years, Xiaomi has come up with some really good phones. Not only in Asia but this company has set a benchmark on entire world with its budget range phone that has been competing with the most expensive phones. After the success of Redmi Note 5 and Poco-phone, MI is back with a new phone i.e. Redmi Note 7 pro.

Design

The phone is available in Neptune Blue, Space Black, and Nebula Red color option. Within the plastic frame, the front and back side of the phone is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There are both pros and cons of having this glass body. The advantage is that it provides a solid built quality that provides grip and gives premium looks to the phone. However, the disadvantage is that the phone may feel pretty heavy because of the glass body.

Also, it is a fingerprint magnet and scratches can be seen with use. Thus, using back covers is recommended in order to avoid fingerprints and scratches. Back to its cool features, a fingerprint sensor is at the back of the phone is a perfect placement since reachability is quite simple and easy at the back. In addition, the sensor is responsive and works most of the time. At the side of the phone, power button and volume rocker are provided.

Display

The phone comprises of 6.3 inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen which is not color accurate as of the AMOLED panel. Nevertheless, the screen has a good viewing angle and crispy colors with ~409 PPI density. The IPS display is under Gorilla glass 5 so it can protect the phone from some drops without any damage to the phone. Since the phone has an IPS display and average processor, playing heavy games provides average performance. In addition to it, the problem of quick heating up can be observed.

Processor

Note 7 Pro comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675(11nm) Octa-core Processor which is quietly dated but at this price point, it’s a fair deal. This phone runs on the latest version of Android i.e. Android 9.0(Pie) with MIUI v10. The MIUI provides AI features which help to open the application in almost 0 seconds and has cool new features. The MIUI is smooth and user-friendly but the problem with it is that after the installation of each application it shows ads which is kind of irritating. Since this phone has Hybrid SIM slot, it supports either two Nano-SIM or a Nano-SIM with external microSD card which can be extended up to 256GB of storage.

Camera

This handset is equipped with a dual-camera aligned vertically at the back and a selfie camera at the front. The selfie camera is a 13 MP sensor that snaps really good selfies and supports HDR mode and takes portrait photos. Also, it can take video in 1080p @ 30fps. As the main camera, a 48MP Sony sensor with f/1.8 and a 5MP sensor with f/2.4 for depth is provided. Though 48 MP camera is provided, the camera takes photos with a 12MP sensor as a default mode.

Taking photos from 48MP is possible in pro mode but it makes the phone slow and shutter lags after every shot which is kind of annoying to use. Similarly, the camera features dual-LED flash, HDR mode, and Panorama. It can take video up to 2160p @ 30fps or 1080p @ 30/60/120fps. The sensor is EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) so the videos are stable and of nice quality by minimizing blurring.

Extra

Besides these features, this handset has OTG support so you can transfer data from pen-drive or any external devices at any time. Similarly, it is a splash-proof device and supports 4G network. It has Bluetooth 5.0 for faster and long-range connectivity, USB 2.0 and Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. Furthermore, it supports 18W fast charging and has 4000 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery as its power source which should be enough for full-day use. There is a speaker at the bottom of the phone for sound and a 3.5mm headphone jack for output sound.

Comparing with the Samsung A50 and Samsung M30 which are of a similar price range, note 7 pro is the best competitor. All in all, with its low price range, its processing speed, its camera quality, glass body, big screen (81.4% screen to body ratio) and a big battery, this phone is worth its price.

This phone is powered by Exynos 9610 (10nm) chipset clocked at a maximum of 2.3GHz, octa-core CPU and Mali-G72 MP3 as GPU which can perfectly run games and perform daily tasks easily without slowing down the phone. The company provides these phones in two variants one with 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and another with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The storage can be extended up to 512GB from the dedicated slot. This phone runs on software Samsung One UI which is based on the latest android software i.e. Android 9.0(Pie). The Galaxy A50 is the first model in the A series to feature an on-screen fingerprint sensor. Though the fingerprint sensor is not as accurate as in Samsung S10 it gets the job done. Also, the front camera provides a face unlock facility. As soon as the front camera detects the registered face it unlocks the device quickly.

Samsung Galaxy A50 also supports GSM/HSPA/LTE. Considering the latest tech, Bluetooth 5.0 and Type C connector is provided on this phone. It comprises of non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery which is enough for full day use with a fully charged phone. The longevity of battery may vary on the usage pattern and the charging option is provided with 15 watts wired fast charging. This phone still has a 3.5mm jack which most of the smartphone company has excluded from their devices. Sound output is loud and clear but not the loudest in the market.
