We all got to see the POCO M4 Pro 5G at the end of the year 2021. And now, POCO has introduced us to a 4G version of the phone – POCO M4 Pro 4G. To note, this is the first M-series phone to have an sAMOLED display. Here, we will dig into the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of POCO M4 Pro 4G in Nepal.

POCO M4 Pro 4G Overview

Design and Display

The POCO M4 Pro 4G brings a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. It boasts a Full HD+ resolution alongside a peak brightness of 1000nits. The screen has full protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has also received SGS Seamless and Eye Care Certification. Above the screen, there is a punch-hole cutout holding the front-facing camera.

The design of the 4G model is similar to the 5G version. It also flaunts a big camera module spanning across the width of the plastic-made phone. The body measures 8.09mm in thickness and weighs just 179.5 grams. The body is IP53 rated for dust and splash protection as well. You can see the phone in three different color variations – Power Black, Cool Blue, and POCO Yellow.

Performance and Memory

Powering the device is a MediaTek Helio G96 processor based on a 12nm manufacturing process. This chipset integrates an octa-core (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU coupled with Arm’s Mali-G57 MC2 graphics processor. Over to the software front, the device still boots on Android 11 on top of MIUI 13.

As per memory, there are two configurations – 6/128GB and 8/258GB of UFS 2.2. You can use the feature of virtual RAM up to 11GB and then also expand the internal storage up to 1TB via the dedicated microSD card slot.

Camera and Audio

Under the hood, there is a triple camera setup on the POCO M4 Pro 4G while the 5G version was stuck with a dual. The main sensor here is a 64MP lens with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF support. Likewise, there resides an 8MP ultrawide sensor with a 118-degree field of view. Completing the setup is a 2MP shooter for macro shots. The module also holds an LED flash for better night shots. You can record videos up to 1080 resolution at the rate of 30 frames per second.

Upfront, the device has a 16MP selfie snapper with an f/2.5 aperture which can also shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. For audio, there is a loudspeaker system with stereo speakers that tune out 24-bit/192kHz audio. You can also use the 3.5mm headphone jack for music and calls.

Moving on, the system gets its fuel from a massive 5,000mAh battery cell with 33W fast charging support. POCO claims to charge from 0-100% in just 58 minutes. It also has the support of Power Delivery 3.0 and Quick Charge 3+. Further, there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security accompanied by the face unlock system. Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.

Lastly, there are connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO), infrared blaster, and NFC. You can also see the USB Type-C 2.0 for wired connectivity.
