Samsung has launched a new premium midrange phone in the market. After tons of leaks and rumors, the phone has officially been unveiled. We might even say, this is a new year gift from Samsung to all its fans. If we recall correctly, the Samsung S20 FE was the most well-received smartphone of the brand to date. Let’s hope Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G receives the same response. The phone has already started pre-order in Nepal as well. Display and Design

The new Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition sports a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with a 120Hz of high refresh rate. It has an infinity-O design above the screen which holds the selfie camera. It has accurate colors with a super bright screen and small but noticeable bezels. The phone also has a 240Hz of touch sampling rate while in gaming mode which is very impressive and supposedly smoother than ever. The screen gets its protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The device weighs 177 grams while embedding the dimension of 74.5×155.7×7.9mm. The back panel of the S21 FE is premium textured haze finished in four different color options – Olive, Lavender, White, and Graphite. However, the white ones are not available in Nepal. There is a camera bump like the other models from the S21 series. Though this feels less premium than the standard S21, it looks worth it on a mid-range premium phone.

Performance and Memory

Powering the phone is the standard Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus in the United States. The chipset is based on a 5nm manufacturing process while integrating an octa-core CPU with Qualcomm’s own Kryo 680 clocked at the maximum speed of up to 3GHz. Likewise, the graphics are handled by Adreno 660. According to Samsung, the CPU and GPU performances are boosted by 12% and 37% respectively. However, in the global version of the phone, there is Exynos 2100 based on a 5nm fabrication process.

As per memory, there are two configurations in the model – 6/128GB and 8/256GB. On the software front, the phone boots on Android 12 on top of Samsung’s in-house One UI 4. Further, the 5G support in the phone gives you a lot smooth experience than ever.

Camera

Under the hood, there is a triple camera setup on the back of the Galaxy S21 FE. It has a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP wide-angle sensor, and an 8MP Telephoto shooter with 3X zoom capacity. The ultrawide lens had an f/2.2 aperture and a 123-degrees field of view. The second one has an f/1.8 aperture with Dual Pixel AF and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support. Upfront, there is a 32MP selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture and an 81-degree field of view.

You can have very versatile shots with this smartphone whose depth is more accurate than ever with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The photos will have the finest detail almost as same as the studio-grade photos. You can also choose from Blur or High Key memo or backdrop or color point modes while you finalize your picture. The camera can zoom up to 30X spacetimes which are very impressive for a mid-range phone.

The device has the support of dual recording which is a very good feature for your blogs and more. You can also shoot night modes at very excellent processing since the AI here does multi-frame processing and make your picture prettier than ever. Moreover, you can record 4K videos with amazing details and clarity on the phone.

Battery and Extras

Fueling the device is a medium 4,500mAh battery cell with 25W fast charging support. While a C to C data cable is provided in the box itself, you will have to arrange an adapter yourself. You can easily last a whole day with average use on the phone. The average time for charging is one hour fifteen minutes. The device also supports 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The display in your phone is customizable from the wide color palate inside it. You can easily select a widget and the picture-in-picture window was never better. For easy use in sunlight, there is a thicker brightness panel inside the quick panel. Further, you can have your stickers, emojis, and gifs all in one icon and the most interesting feature is that now, you can mix up your emojis.

The pictures and files in the phone can be easily backed up in the OneDrive via your phone. For biometrics, there is an optical under-display fingerprint sensor which is different from others in the S21 series who have ultrasonic ones. Lastly, on the box, there is a phone, a user guide, a C to C data cable, and an ejection pin.
