OnePlus 9: The ultimate smartphone powered by Snapdragon 888

OnePlus 9 was launched in Nepal last month, in the middle of the lockdown. The 9 series includes the OnePlus 9, the OnePlus 9 Pro, and the OnePlus 9R. The former smartphone is available here and the official OnePlus 9 price in Nepal is Rs. 1,04,999. Let’s dig into the detailed specs and features of the model.

OnePlus 9 Overview

Design and Display

OnePlus 9 features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 87.6% screen-to-body ratio is accompanied by the 20:9 aspect ratio. There is a plastic frame with corning gorilla glass 5 in front and back.  

The 1080×2400 pixels resolution boasts the approximate PPI density of 402. There is a peak brightness in 1100 different levels with HDR10+ resolution. Moreover, Winter Mist, Arctic Sky, and Astral Black are the color options to choose from.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, it packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G like the most high-end phone this year. There is an octa-core CPU with one 2.84GHz, three 2.42GHz, and four 1.80GHz cortices of Kryo 680 cores. Further, there is an Adreno 660 graphics processor for a smooth user experience.

OnePlus 9 runs on Android 11 on top of the OxygenOS 11.2.7.7. The memory variants are 8/128GB and 12/256GB among which only one 12/256GB is available in Nepal. The memory is of UFS 3.1 and is not expandable via a microSD card or any other means.

Camera and Sound

There is a triple camera setup in the OnePlus 9 with a 48MP primary sensor of f/1.8 aperture that supports 1.12micron pixel size. Completing the setup is a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP monochrome sensor of f/2.2 and f/2.4 aperture respectively.  The camera setup has a dual-LED flashlight and has HDR and panorama modes.

The most notable thing in the camera factor is that it has a Hasselblad Color Calibration system. The video shoot can be done up to 8K resolution in 30 frames per second.

Upfront, it houses a 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.4 aperture which supports the Auto-HDR feature. However, there can be a 1080p video shot at 30fps.

Moving over to the sound system, there is a loudspeaker system with stereo speakers. The Dolby Atmos system with 24-bit/192kHz audio support.

Battery and Extras

Fueling up the device is a non-removable Li-Po 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging. The 15W wireless charging also exists in the European version but unfortunately not on the Nepalese version. OnePlus claims the full charge from 1-100% in just 29 minutes. The battery endurance rating is up to 87 hours.

For connectivity, there are Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, SBAS), NFC, and USB Type-C 3.1 for charging and data transfers. Unfortunately, there are no infrared blasters. The brand has gone with the under-display optical fingerprint sensor for biometrics. Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, color spectrum, and compass.

ZTE or Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment was providing the smartphones in Nepal market since 2016. But due to some unknown reason, it backed out. But now, it has been teasing some new smartphones in Nepal alongside its flagship 2021, ZTE Axon 30 Ultra. Let’s look at the specs, features, and the expected ZTE Axon 30 Ultra price in Nepal.

ZTE Axon 30 Ultra Overview

The ZTE flagship 2021 named Axon 30 Ultra competes with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and iPhone 12 series. And even the price range is expected to be similar in Nepal. The other 30 series include 30 Pro whose availability in Nepal is yet to be cleared.

Display and Design

The ZTE Axon 30 Ultra features a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. Performance and Memory

The ZTE flagship also features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which has been at its peak since its debut. The Octa-core (1×2.84 GHz Kryo 680 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 680 & 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 680) CPU is accompanied by the Adreno 660 graphics processor.

Likewise, the memory options are 8/128GB, 8/256GB, 12/256GB, and the massive 16GB RAM paired with 1TB internal storage and UFS 3.1. However, it is not expandable via a microSD card or any other means. But for 1TB storage, I don’t think we need to expand them further.

Camera and Sound

Axon 30 Ultra packs the quad-camera setup with three 64MP cameras of f/1.6, f/1.9, and f/2.2 apertures that are supposed to be a wide, standard, and ultrawide lens respectively. Completing the setup is an 8MP periscope telephoto sensor with an f/3.4 aperture.

The video support is up to 8K at 30fps. Impressive right?? Moreover, there is a 10-bit 4K video shoot at 30/60fps and 1080p@30fps with gyro-EIS and HDR 10. Other features are Dual-LED flash, panorama, and HDR modes.

Upfront, it houses a 16MP wide which supports HDR mode with 4K and 1080p video shoot at 30 fps. Furthermore, there is a very good stereo speaker with 24-bit/192kHz audio support. The Dolby Atmos gives you a very nice sound experience. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack port for music and there is no FM radio service.

Fueling up the Axon 30 Ultra is a non-removable Li-Po 4,600mAh battery with fast charging support of 65W. Moreover, there is a Quick Charge 4+ alongside USB Power Delivery 3.0 with PPS. Moving on to biometrics, there is an under-display fingerprint sensor that is very fast and efficient.

Other sensors are an accelerometer, gyro meter, proximity, and compass. For connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (A-GPS/GLONASS/GALILEO/BDS), NFC, and a USB Type-C for charging and data transfers.

Last but not the least, Axon 30 Ultra runs along with Android 11 on top of MyOS 11.

The successor of the OnePlus Nord N100 has been launched in the USA. Though the brand just launched the One Plus Nord CE 5G, it almost immediately announced the new budget-smartphone from the Nord series. The OnePlus Nord N200 is the latest Nord installment from OnePlus and is rebranded smartphone from Oppo A93. Design and Display

The new Nord smartphone features a 6.49-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution that boasts a 90Hz refresh rate. The plastic frame has the dimension of 163.1 x 74.9 x 8.3 mm accompanied by the glass front protected by the Gorilla Glass 3. The device weighs around 189g.

Camera and Sound

The Nord legacy is carried on with a triple camera set up in the back in a square camera bump which also includes a LED flash. There is a 13MP primary shooter with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth lens with f/2.4 aperture each. The video support is up to 1080p at 30fps and has a gyro-EIS system as well. Moreover, there is an HDR and panorama mode you can enjoy as well.

Moving on the front camera, there is a 16MP selfie capturer with f/2.1 aperture which also supports 1080p video shoot at 30fps. Unfortunately, the front camera supports only HDR but no panorama mode.

Design

Honor Earbuds 2 SE comes inside a rectangular charging case. The buds have a glossy stem with silicone tips. The tips are specially designed to comfort your ears.

Both earbuds are water resistance with IPX4 certification. They collectively weigh 11 grams. For the premium looks, there are two color variations – Iceland White and Magic Night Black.

Features

Nokia G10 has finally hit the Nepali market. With the Nokia G20 launched last month, this is yet another back-to-back release of the G-series. Here, we will be looking at the Nokia G10 price in Nepal and the specs and key features.

Nokia G10 Overview

Design and Display

Nokia G10 has a 6.5-inch HD LCD with 1600×720 pixels resolutions. There is a combo of the 81.9% screen-to-body ratio and 20:9 aspect ratio. The PPI density is approximately 269.

The 194g weight of the handset has the dimension of 164.9×76×9.2mm. Furthermore, there is a V-notch with side bezels and the branding is in the chin part. It is also supposed to be splash-proof. In addition, Dusk and Night are the two-color options we can choose according to our preferences.

Performance and Memory

Nokia G10 packs the stock Android 11 powered up by MediaTek Helio G25 based on a 12nm mobile platform. The CPU has four of each A53 2.0GHz cores and 1.5GHz cores. Moreover, it is teamed up with the PowerVR GE8320 graphics processor.

Honor has launched the 50-series in China. These models are expected to support GMS outside of China as well. This the first flagship smartphone after separating with Huawei last year. This post will be glancing at the key specifications and the expected Honor 50 series price in Nepal.

Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro Overviews

Design and Display

Honor 50 5G has 6.57-inch AMOLED FHD+ displays. Similarly, the 50 Pro 5G flaunts a 6.72-inch AMOLED display. There is only a little difference between these two since both are packed with a center-aligned cutout holding the front camera. The camera setup differentiates them from the standard Honor 50.

There is also excellent support of 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate with the HDR certification. Furthermore, there is a 10-bit color depth which results in the production of billion colors.

Performance and Memory

Honor 50 and 50 Pro are the first phones to feature the brand-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G based on TSMC’s 6nm node. However, this is just the toned-down version of Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G.

The most highlighted thing about the new Honor 50 series is that it packs the Google Mobile Services (GMS) for the global market and not only in China.

Camera

The Honor 50 and 50 Pro has two circular rings that contain the camera setup. The upper ring houses the primary sensor and the lower ring holds the rest of the lens which completes the quad-camera setup. The primary sensor is a 108MP ISOCELL HM2 which is 1/1.52-inch in size capturing the 12MP picture by the non-binning technique.

Furthermore, the lower ring has an 8MP ultrawide shooter accompanied by two 2MP depth and macro sensors.

There is a 32MP selfie shooter in both 50 and 50 Pro but the difference comes when the Pro version has the 12MP ultrawide lens teaming up with the shooter.

Battery

Talking about the battery, there has been a compromise on the Pro version over the standard model. Where the 50 is fueled by the 4,300mAh battery, the Pro version is stuck with 4,000mAh. However, the Honor 50 comes with 66W fast charging and the Pro version packs 100W.

Honor 50 SE Overview

The Honor 50 SE has the largest display of all 6.78” FHD with a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the touch sampling rate is limited to 240Hz. Moreover, the main difference is in the processor because it uses a MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G.

The other noticeable difference is that it features a triple camera setup. Where the other versions had all cameras within the rings, it has one outside of it.
