Samsung Galaxy F22: Yet another re-brand to the Galaxy A22?

Samsung has launched a new smartphone in the Nepali market. It goes by the name Galaxy F22 but is way too familiar with the newly released Samsung Galaxy A22 4G. In this post, we will look at the specs, features, availability, and the official price of the Samsung Galaxy F22 in Nepal.

Samsung Galaxy F22 Overview

Design and Display

Galaxy F22 has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a dimension of 160x 74 x 9.4 mm and weighs 203g. However, the resolution is limited to HD+ with 720×1600-pixels capacity.

The phone has a waterdrop notch at the front and a square bump with the quad-camera setup at the back. But, what makes it different from the Galaxy A22 is that it has a wavy design on the back. The color variations available are – Denim Black and Denim Blue.

Performance and Memory

Samsung Galaxy F22 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 based on a 12nm chip that was previously used by Samsung Galaxy A22. The chipset has the MediaTek Hyper Engine which makes the gaming performance enhanced. Further, Galaxy F22 runs on Android 11 alongside OneUI core 3.1. The CPU is an Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz & 6×1.8 GHz).

The model has two memory alternatives; 4/64GB and 6/128GB. The internal storage is also expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Camera and Sound

The handset features a quad-camera setup on the back which has a 48MP primary sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) support. Besides that, there is an 8MP ultrawide lens, and two 2MP depth and macro setups respectively.

Upfront, the waterdrop notch houses a 13MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture. As for the video, it supports 1080p videos at 30fps via both rear and front cameras.

Moving on to the sound system, it has a Dolby Atmos audio and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Battery and Extras

Galaxy F22 is mechanized with a non-removable Li-Po 6,000mAh battery supporting 15W fast charging via USB Type-C port which can also be used for the data transfer. Previously, the Galaxy A22 4G had a 5,000mAh battery with the same charging support.

For biometrics, Samsung has gone with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Other sensors are an accelerometer, gyro meter, and proximity. For connectivity, the handset has the support of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS.

Nepal’s own PUBG Servers pass the initial test; now up for installation

Nepal has received a PUBG server of its own. All Thanks to Worldlink for partnering with Tencent. PUBG has been a priority in major youngsters of Nepal. And since 90% of the population is in isolation because of the lockdown, the latency of the game has reached a peak. In addition, some domestic teams have been getting victory over victory in the international market which made it irresistible for the ISP providers to not bring our server to Nepal.

Worldlink PUBG Servers in Nepal

As confirmed by reports, Worldlink teamed up with Tencent and PUBG Mobile to install two CDN (Content Delivery Network). The rumors are that Worldlink will install a total of ten servers within the next year. However, only two of them have passed the initial tests.

The Nepalese PUBG players have been facing high latency or what we call in common words- ping. The new servers will reduce the level of ping giving you smooth gameplay.

We have reports that Nepal uses 20-25Gbps international bandwidth for PUBG. And Worldlink alone is responsible for 10Gbps of this total bandwidth.

Previously, when there were more complaints about the high latency while using TikTok, Worldlink installed 20 CDN servers across the country.

What should we expect?

The Local server reduces the loading time of the game and it makes it fast with enhanced looks. The latency will drastically reduce taking the gaming experience to a very high level. However, we are yet to see the level at which the gameplay will be boosted. But I guess, we’ll see it soon even maybe within a month or two.

With the better performance and faster response from the game, we can surely hope that the e-sports in Nepal will flourish even more and more in the upcoming days. The PUBG server in Nepal is expected to complete installation within a month.

Before some time, Ncell received tech-neutral bands of 900MHz and 2100MHz respectively. They were implemented to use for 4G and 3G mobile networks across the country. Now, the operation is actively started from 900MHz for 4G LTE. Let’s see what’s more to the Ncell VoLTE service and 4G LTE on 900MHz.

Ncell 4G LTE has been running in some regions for quite a time now. It has an enhanced penetration power since the band is of low-frequency; 900MHz. It is supposed to have better coverage than the higher frequencies like 1800MHz. The increment is around 30% to 40%. The highly dense settlement areas can be very benefited from the facility.

Likewise, the other nice thing is that it has a minimum chance to interfere with other Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices with higher frequencies. And since the components of 900MHz are available in most high-end devices due to the expensive parts.

In addition, the 900MHz can be used for 5G network connectivity in the future as the Tech Neutrality implementation has been done for the 900MHz band.

Coverage Plans

Ncell has a one-year target for covering the network areas all over the country. However, as of today, it only covers 30% of the areas. Moreover, if Ncell meets the target and the network extends all over Nepal, it can enable Carrier Aggregation between 900MHz and 1800MHz. As of today, only Nepal Telecom is providing the facility in Nepal.

VoLTE

Ncell has planned to launch the VoLTE service with the same frequency for clear HD voice calls. Nepal Telecom has 1800MHz and 800MHz bands for the same facility which started a few months back.
