Xiaomi has finally launched a successor to last year’s Mi Band 6. It was and still is one of the best fitness bands available in the Nepali market. And now, the new Xiaomi Mi Band 7 brings even more upgrades to the band. In this post, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Xiaomi Mi Band 7 in Nepal.

Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Overview

Design

Beginning with the design, we can see a bigger display on the Xiaomi Mi Band 7 when compared to last year’s Band 6. Where the latter measured a 1.56-inch screen, the new one sports a 1.62-inch. According to Xiaomi, this gives us a 25% more viewable area. Further, the band has a typical brightness level of 500nits alongside the same pixel density as the Mi Band 6 – 326 pixels. There is Always-On-Display support in some of the watch faces as well.

Health and Fitness Tracking

Like most fitness trackers these days, Xiaomi Mi Band 7 also brings similar features. It has an optical heart rate sensor that monitors your heart rate 24/7 and also supports Blood Oxygen (SpO2) monitoring. If your SpO2 drops below the normal range, it will immediately warn the user.

You can see 12 different sports modes in the band including some standard ones like running and swimming. It can even detect four swimming styles. However, there is no built-in GPS in the band which might be a little disappointing for some people. However, it compensates by recording your VO2 Max level while you work out.

Samsung Galaxy M13: The latest installment of the M-series

Samsung has now launched a new phone – Galaxy M13 to succeed the Galaxy M12 we saw some time ago. This is a budget phone which brings some upgrades to its predecessors. Here, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Samsung Galaxy M13 in Nepal.

Samsung Galaxy M13 Overview

Display and Design

The new M-series installment flaunts a 6.6-inch PLS LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 720×1600-pixel capacity. We are yet to be confirmed the refresh rate between 60Hz and 90. Above the display, there is a V-shaped notch that holds the selfie camera. Further, it has 266 PPI density and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

As per memory, there is a single RAM configuration of 4GB with two options for internal storage – 64GB and 128GB of eMMC 5.1. You can also expand the internal storage up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Over to the software front, the device boots on Android 12 on top of Samsung One UI Core 4.1. Here, the core version doesn’t have all the features of the standard One UI 4.1. This means that the performance level can’t be maintained on entry-level hardware.

As mentioned earlier, the handset brings a triple camera setup on the rectangular camera island on the back panel. It is led by a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF support. Likewise, there is a 5MP ultrawide lens with a 123-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. Completing this setup is a 2MP camera for portrait shots.

Google introduced Pixel 6 and 6 Pro a few months back. And now, we have received a cheaper alternative to those phones – Pixel 6a. It comes in a new design with a tensor chip. It was launched last week in an I/O event where we also got to see Google Pixel Buds Pro. However, that’s another story. In this post, we will discuss the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of Google Pixel 6a in Nepal.

Google Pixel 6a Overview

Display and Design

Starting with the design, Google Pixel 6 flaunts a 6.1-inch FHD OLED panel with a 60Hz dynamic refresh rate. It boasts 16 million colors with HDR content. The screen gets its protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3 at the front and plastic at the back. This setup is embedded in an aluminum frame. Further, it has a 1080×2400-pixel capacity and the PPI density remains 429. Above the display, there is a center-aligned punch-hole cutout that holds the front-facing camera.

Google Pixel 6 weighs 178 grams and the dimension is 152.2×71.8×8.9mm. The device is also IP67 certified for dust or water resistivity. There are three color options available for the handset – Chalk, Charcoal, and Sage. Moreover, the frame here is metallic, and the fingerprint sensor lies beneath the display.

The new Pixel phone is powered up with Google Tensor System on a Chip (SoC) based on a 5nm manufacturing process. It integrates an octa-core CPU which divides into two Cortex-X1 cores, two Cortex-A76 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at the speed of 2.80GHz, 2.25GHz, and 1.80GHz respectively. Likewise, the graphics depart is handled by Arm’s Mali-G78 MP20. In addition, it also has the Titan M2 security chip.

The phone also features a Dual-LED flash while the cameras have the Pixel Shift, Auto-HDR, and panorama mode. The video support is up to 4K resolution with 30/60 frames per second. The video mode also has gyro-EIS and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

Upfront, there is an 8MP selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12 microns pixel capacity. However, it can only shoot 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. Further, there is a loudspeaker integrating stereo speakers. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.

Battery and Extras

Fueling the device is a medium Li-Po 4,410mAh battery cell with an 18W fast charging capacity. The battery life is up to 24 hours which can be extended up to 72 hours in an Extreme Battery Save mode. Moreover, there is a USB Power Delivery 3.0 while the charging is done via USB Type-C 3.1. Likewise, there is an optical under-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics which also includes a software-based face unlock system.

Other sensors are an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer. For connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, BDS), and NFC. Lastly, there are some pre-loaded features like Live Caption and Live Translate on the device.

Samsung has announced a new phone in its A-series – Galaxy A13. The phone is the revised version of last year’s Galaxy A12 and resembles many features from another A-series smartphone announced a week ago – Galaxy A23. In this post, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Samsung Galaxy A13 in Nepal.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy A13 sports a 6.6-inch TFT screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080×2408-pixels. It boasts an 83.2% screen-to-body ratio and 400 PPI density. Above the screen, there is an Infinity-V notch that holds the front-facing camera. The display gets its protection from Corning Gorilla Glass.

Oppo entered the tablet market last year with its first-ever tablet – Oppo Pad. And now, it has expanded its tablet collection with a new one which is a cheap alternative to its first installment. It is named Oppo Pad Air and we will be discussing its specs, features, and its availability as well as the price in Nepal.

Display and Design

Beginning with the design, the Pad is flat-edged and topped with squared-off edges with the two-tone appearance we also saw in Oppo Pad from last year. However, it adds a textured pattern with a shine, a new feature from the first Oppo tablet. Oppo claims that the pattern is projected with a five-layer process design. Likewise, the rear panel of the device is designed to keep it safe from fingerprints and smudges.

Xiaomi Nepal has launched a new version of the Redmi 10 in the market. Previously, we saw Redmi 10 (2022), and to note, both features different specs. However, the Redmi 10 we saw now resembles Redmi 10C in most ways. In this post, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the official price of the Redmi 10 in Nepal.

Redmi 10 Overview

Display and Design

Beginning with the display, it measures 6.71-inches alongside HD+ resolution of 720×1650-pixel capacity. It has 268 PPI density alongside an 82.0% screen-to-body ratio. Likewise, it still boasts a 60Hz refresh rate and 400-nits of brightness level. Above the screen, there is a waterdrop-style notch that holds the front-facing camera. The screen then gets its protection from a Corning Gorilla Glass.

Redmi 10 Display and Design

The handset embeds the dimension of 169.59 x 76.56 x 9.13mm and weighs just 203 grams. The rear panel has a smudge-free textured finish while also including a massive square camera island, Redmi Branding, and a fingerprint scanner. Xiaomi is still counting this as Evol design despite the change in Redmi 10’s design compared to last year’s Redmi 10 series. It comes in three different color options – Midnight Black, Pacific Blue, and Caribbean Green.

Performance and Memory

Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset based on a 6nm fabrication process. It integrates an octa-core CPU with four Kryo 265 Gold and four Kryo 265 Silver cores clocked at the speed of 2.4GHz and 1.9GHz respectively. Likewise, the graphics are handled by Adreno 610 processor. This is the same power-efficient setup we saw in other phones like Redmi Note 11, Realme 9i, and Samsung Galaxy A23 4G.

Over to the software front, the phone still boots on Android 11 on top of MIUI 13. Further, there are two memory configurations available for the phone – 4/64GB and 6/128GB of UFS 2.2. You can also expand your internal storage up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Camera and Audio

For optics, there is a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF support. It also has a 2MP lens for portrait shots. Upfront, there is a 5MP selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture. Both rear and front can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. Furthermore, you can see a single down-firing speaker system for audio accompanied by a 3.5mm headphone jack for music and calls.

Under the hood, Redmi 10 gets its fuel from a massive 6,000mAh battery cell with 18W charging support. However, Xiaomi only includes a 10W adapter inside the box. The charging is done via a USB Type-C 2.0 port which can also be used for data transfer purposes. For biometrics, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner followed by a software-based face unlock.

Vivo has finally entered the tablet market with its first – Vivo Pad. Right now, it is exclusive to the Chinese market and we have had no official news of its availability on the global market. However, there is no harm in discussing the Vivo Pad in detail with its specifications, features, and price in Nepal.

Vivo Pad Overview

Display and Design

The new Vivo Pad flaunts an 11.0-inch IPS LCD screen with a 1600×2560-pixel resolution. This is like the Oppo Pad we saw a few months back. This might be because both Oppo and Vivo are managed under the same brand – BBK Umbrella. Its 2.5K display is accompanied by 10-bit colors and Dolby Vision. There’s a 120Hz refresh rate which means you can have a smooth experience. Likewise, there is a 274-pixel density and 84.1% screen-to-body ratio.

The tablet weighs 489 grams and embeds a dimension of 253.2×164.7×6.6mm. It has a glass front and aluminum back that are then held together in an aluminum frame again. There is a circular camera bump in the rear panel that lies in a squarish module. It is then available in two color options – Space Grey and Sky Blue.

Performance and Memory

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset that integrates an octa-core CPU with eight Kryo 585 cores among which one is clocked at the speed of 3.2GHz, three at 2.42Ghz, and the remaining four at 1.80GHz. Likewise, the graphics depart is handled by Adreno 650.

The tablet is available in two different color configurations – 8/128GB and 8/256GB of UFS 3.1. Unfortunately, you can no longer expand your internal storage via any means. Over to the software front, the tablet boots on Android 12 on top of OriginOS HD.
