Huawei Matebook X Pro 2022 announced at MWC 2022

Huawei has announced a new installment for its flagship laptop – Matebook X Pro. It brings some great improvements over its predecessor while keeping up all the good features. Here, will dig into the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Huawei Matebook X Pro 2022 in Nepal.

Display and Design

Matebook X Pro brings a 14.2-inch IPS LCD panel with a 3.1K (3120×2080-pixel) resolution. The 2021 model of the device had a 13.9-inch screen with 3000×2000-pixels resolution. Likewise, it is a touchscreen laptop with a 90Hz refresh rate and 3:2 aspect ratio. Huawei has claimed that this is the world’s first TÜV Rheinland Pro-level color accuracy display. There are dual-color gamuts on the display – sRGB and DCI-P3.

Further, the screen is a VSEA Display HDR 400 certified with color accuracy of Delta E less than 1 (△E<1). The peak brightness here measures 500nits only which could have been better. The laptop has a 6mm bezel at the top which is very impressive and holds an integrated HD webcam. The body here measures 1.38kg and is made up of metal. It is available in a single-color option – Space Grey.

Performance

Powering the laptop is an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1195G7 processor. As many of us are already familiar with it, this is a quad-core processor with eight threads accompanied with 5GHz of max turbo frequency and 12MP cache memory. Huawei is also set to bring the 12th Gen processors for enhanced performance in the future.

Moving on, there is an Intel Iris Xe graphics processor in the laptop which you have already seen on other laptops. As per memory, you can see the device with 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM coupled with 1TB NVMe PCIe Solid State Drive.

There is a dual shark-fin cooling system inside the laptop which keeps the thermal checked all the time. It also teams up with an ultra-slim vapor cooling heat dissipation module for better cooling. Moreover, the device runs on Windows 11.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The full-size backlit chiclet keyboard in the device comes with a 1.5mm key travel distance. The power button also integrates a fingerprint sensor for biometrics. In the touchpad, there is the Huawei Free Touch feature. This means you can use the pad for screenshots, volume control, screen recording, and so on.

The laptop receives its fuel from a Li-Po 60Wh battery with 90W GaN charging support. There lie four USB Type-C ports on the device, all of them can be used for charging, DisplayPort, and data transfer. You can also see a 3.5mm headphone port for your better experience.

Nubia Z40 Pro: The model with two of the first features in the smartphone industry

A new phone – Nubia Z40 Pro has been launched with two of the first industry firsts in the smartphone market. The phone succeeds last year’s Nubia Z30 Pro and is limited to the Chinese market for now. Here, we will talk about the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Nubia Z40 Pro in Nepal.

Nubia Z40 Pro Overview

Magnetic Charging

Nubia Z40 Pro is the first commercial Android phone with a magnetic charging capability with a special “Gravity Edition”. However, there have been some compromises in the Edition to blend in with the new technology. Where the regular Z40 Pro ships with a massive 5,000mAh battery cell with 80W charging capacity, the Gravity Edition is limited to a 4,800mAh battery at 66W.

Camera and Audio

Another industry first by Nubia is that there is a Sony IMX787 primary lens in the Z40 Pro. It is a 64MP sensor measuring 1/1.13-inches and 35mm in equivalency. There is a 4-in-1-pixel binning that shoots the 16MP pictures natively. It also supports PDAF and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Likewise, there is an 8MP periscope telephoto camera with PDAF, OIS, and 5x optical zoom support. Lastly, the setup is completed by a 50MP ultrawide sensor with a 116-degree field of view.

Over to the front, there is a center-aligned punch-hole cutout that holds the 16MP front-facing camera. It has an f/2.5 aperture and can shoot stable videos whose resolution is yet to be disclosed. For audio, there is a loudspeaker system with stereo speakers that tunes out 24-bit/192kHz audio. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack for music and calls.

Display and Design

Nubia Z40 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 10-bit display. It has a 144Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+ contents while the peak brightness remains 1000nits. It has 1080×2400 pixels capacity and 395 PPI density. Further, the screen-to-body ratio and aspect ratio is seen to be 91.0% and 20:9 respectively.

The rear panel of the handset is made up of AG Matte glass has a new rectangular camera bump. There are two different color variations available – Interstellar Black and Galaxy White. Both weigh 199 grams and measure 8.46mm in thickness.

Performance and Memory

Like most flagship phones from 2022, the Nubia Z40 Pro is also powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. This chipset is based on a 4nm manufacturing process and integrates Adreno 730 for graphics alongside an octa-core CPU with a Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.00GHz. Others are three Cortex-A710 and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at the speed of 2.50GHz and 1.80GHz respectively. The system boots on Android 12 on top of MyOS 12.

There are five different memory configurations available for the phone. The low-end variant has 8/128GB memory and the high-end variant comes with 16GB RAM and 1TB internal memory. The RAM here is of LPDDR5 type while the internal storage is of UFS 3.1.   

Moreover, there is a vapor chamber cooling setup in the Z40 Pro. The total heat dissipation area here measures 3500mm2.

For biometrics, the device features an optical under-display fingerprint sensor teamed up with a software-based face unlock. Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. In addition, there are some connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS), NFC, and USB Type-C 3.1.

Infi Store down with the website and social media handles: What happened?

Infi Store; a growing e-commerce platform of the Nepali market has closed all its operations effective from 4 PM February 26. However, the orders made before the given time will be handled by the store. Not only the website but even the pages on its social media handles have been deleted. We have no idea why such a growing platform as Infi Store has gone under the hill.

What was Infi Store?

Infi Store is an e-commerce site established around two years ago. It was blooming in a very nice way. They even organized Nepal’s largest Online Book Collection “Infi Kitaab Karnival” on the first week of December 2020.

They had all the items we are fond of on the website. We are talking from guitars to books to frozen MOMOs to oats and muesli for your breakfast.

They went on with some popular hashtags like #ShopWithInfi, #NeverLimitYourself, and #InfiStore. We also got to see some interesting Twitter contests like “Have you met a partner/friend on Twitter?”. There were many young people who participated in the contest to win their promo code. Though the Twitter handle Twitter is also on the way to being deleted for the Infi Store, you can see the contest participants with the use of #WeMetOnTwitter or #InfiTwitterContest.

The store has worked in collaboration with many popular digital wallets like Khalti, PrabhuPay, and SmartQR Nepal. During the first lockdown on Nepal, it was mentioned in an article by Online Khabar. The exact words were “No Knowledge that INFI Store safely delivered anything and everything you need at your doorstep. And still does. Order Now!”.

They contributed 10% of their earnings from each delivery to feed “The Hungry Nepal”. P.S. The Hungry Nepal is a youth initiative that distributed food to people in need during tough times of lockdown.

The 7 Day Book Sale

The store had organized a 7 Days Book sale with 1,00,000+ books with up to 50% discount from February 27 to March 5. It also had all set for free delivery for purchase over Rs. 500 and gift Hamper for one Lucky Winner with the purchase over Rs. 2,000. So, with the store being collapsed from what we’ve seen, it is safe to say that the sale no longer exists.

What happened?

We are yet to know why the store has decided to end its service when it was doing so well. This kind of evolving e-commerce site should not have been un-operational just when the Nepali e-commerce market is starting to do very well. We are really very disappointed about what could have been the leading e-commerce startup of the Nepali market.

This was very unexpected because Infi Store was growing popular among the population of Nepal. Most people of Nepal have now started getting fond of various e-commerce sites even for their daily groceries. The Infi Store was in tough competition with other e-commerce sites like SastoDeal, Hamro bazaar, BizBazaar, and even Daraz. It is also no news that Infi Store was handling the market well and had growing fans and customers all over the country. As a matter of fact, we have noticed some Nepalese people living in foreign countries trying Infi Store to shop for their family or relatives who live in the Country.

Oppo has launched a new series of smartphones – Find X5 in the European market. There are three phones in the series – Find X5, Find X5 Pro, and Find X5 Lite. The phone succeeds to last year’s Oppo Find X3 series. There is no Find X4 series because the number 4 is considered unlucky in the Chinese tradition. Here, we will dig into the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of the Oppo Find X5 Lite in Nepal.

Display and Design

The Oppo Find X5 Lite sports a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with 1080×2400-pixels resolution and HDR10+ contents. It also has a refresh rate of 90Hz and a typical brightness of 430-nits, HBM brightness of 600nits, and peak brightness of 800nits. The screen gets its protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Likewise, there is a 10-bit display alongside a 76% DCI-P3 color gamut and 180Hz touch sampling rate.

The handset has a triple camera setup which is not as fancy as in the two high-end models – Find X5 and Find X5 Pro. There is a 64MP primary lens with an f/1.7 aperture and 0.7-microns pixel capacity. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 119-degree field of view and an f/2.3 aperture. Further, completing the setup is a 2MP lens for macro shots. The rear camera can record up to 4K videos at 30fps followed by 1080p@30/60/120fps with gyro-EIS.

On the contrary, you can also use the 3.5mm headphone jack for music and calls.

Oppo Pad: The first tablet from Oppo

With the Find X5 series having most of the limelight for Oppo this past few days, there are only a few who noticed a tablet by Oppo. The Oppo Pad comes with Snapdragon 870 processor and is the first of the many tablets from the brand. So, we will dig right into the specs, features, availability, and the expected price of Oppo Pad in Nepal.

Design and Display

Oppo Pad flaunts an 11-inch IPS LCD panel with 2560×1600-pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The playback here supports HDR10 contents and has the support for a stylus. Oppo Pencil is a perfect match for the tablet, but you need to buy it on your own. The stylus has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and wireless fast charging. The Pad also has a support of a smart magnetic keyboard but no trackpad. The screen-to-body ratio and aspect ratio here measure 84.9% and 16:10 respectively. Likewise, the brightness here is 480nits.

The brand has gone with flat edges and a dual-tone finish with its first tablet here. The Oppo branding lies on the left of the pad whereas there are horizontal stripes all over the back panel. You can see the tablet in three different colors – Black, Silver, and Purple. The latter has a 9-layer design process with a dual-textured look. If you want, you can also go with the limited artist edition made in collaboration with James Jean.

Performance and Memory

The system on the tablet gets its power from Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset based on a 7nm fabrication process.  There is an octa-core (1×3.2 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 585) CPU with Adreno 650 graphics processor. This chipset was previously seen on Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro that was exclusive in China. However, the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 5 with Snapdragon 860 is already available in Nepal.

Oppo Pad comes in three memory configurations – 6/128GB, 6/256GB, and 8/256GB of UFS 3.1. You can no longer expand your internal storage since there is no place for a microSD card on the device. Further, there is a heat dissipation system on the tablet that incorporates multi-layered graphite and silicone design. It is spread on a total area of 27413mm2.

The tablet runs on Android 11 on top of ColorOS 12. As the result, you can use the features like parallel windows, multi-finger gestures, and multi-device collaboration.

Camera and Audio

Over to the optics, there is a single camera setup at the front followed by the same on the back. At the back, there is a 13MP lens with an f/2.2 aperture and Auto-Focus. Upfront, there is an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. In addition, they can record videos up to 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.

For audio, you can see a quad-speaker setup with second-generation ACC speakers. The impressive thing is that they can offer Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio effects without a problem.

Rest of the Specs

Under the hood, the Pad gets its fuel from a massive Li-Po 8,360mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The device can also be used for reverse charging. For connectivity, there are Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth 5.2. Furthermore, there is an accelerometer, gyro, and proximity as additional sensors. Unfortunately, the tablet does not support cellular connectivity.

Beginning with the design, there is a rectangular camera setup at the back panel of iQOO 9 SE. The body measures 8.4mm in thickness and is also resistant to minor splashes and dust. It is safe to say that it resembles iQOO 9 more than it does to the 9 Pro. There are two color variations available – Space Fusion and Sunset Sierra.

The system here boots on Android 12 on top of Funtouch 12.

Oppo has launched a new series of smartphones – Find X5 in the European market. There are three phones in the series – Find X5, Find X5 Pro, and Find X5 Lite. The phone succeeds to last year’s Oppo Find X3 series. There is no Find X4 series because the number 4 is considered unlucky in the Chinese tradition.
